and how did that happen?
It's a real shame though. Manufacturers should be required to say how much weight can a glass table can hold.
Get gorilla glass to replace the old glass :D

Glass has very low tenacity, it is really fragile. What it means is that even though glass can be hard, it will not bend at all. Other materials can easily cope with tension by bending and in extreme occasions actually deform, but glass will just shatter the moment too much pressure is applies. It is a poor material only used due to it's aesthetically pleasing properties. Do not trust glass with your life or high-value assets like 3 computers and monitors, even straw is a better material.

Pretty sure it also depends on how the glass was made. Depending on the procedure, glass can be made incorrectly and be extremely brittle as well.

If I helped you, click that +rep!
Those tables are surely made out of tempered glass. However, tempered glass is still not that strong, it's probably around 5 times as strong as normal glass. You can break it with a punch, so 3 pcs + 3 monitors + all the heat will make it a lot easier for tempered glass to be shattered.
And unless you're rich it's not economically viable to make a table out of gorilla glass.
