Im on my schools track team So i think I'm qualified to answer lol.
Running on the road is better as grass usually sinks in when your running on it. This may not have immediate effect but after a while will cause cramps and long term ankle problems. For the Track thing just try out, usually track teams aren't to competitive so If you try you should make it. Your coach will teach you form and other techniques to make you faster. Also make sure to change your running shoes every 1500 miles or so, it can cause leg problems if you dont.
Hope I helped.

Generally my self, I don't like running on the road, as my friend got inflammation in his periosteum that way. I don't like grass either, as I'm always thinking of not slipping. So I did my first sprints in the forest and then moved to a real track.
I read this
http://www.simplyshredded.com/crank-it-up-sprinting-towards-single-digit-body-fat-percentages-with-high-intensity-training.html
And the watched those

However a real trainer is always best, but this is what I did and I think I improved very well. Don't forget good shoes is imporant

Aight, one more thing. Should I do sprint workouts everyday? or mix it up and rotate between run days and sprint days.
