Just played as AP Soraka mid. Not too unorthodox but by no means normal. She wrecks. In lane every time someone tries to gank/harass she's like LOLNOPE *silences enemy*.
Her damage potential falls of late a little, but she can still birst decently with DFG. Her heals however become god-like.
Enemy: Ha! They're all low hp we can ace them!
Soraka: LOLNOPE *ult*

AP kennen is the same way man!
He was originally played as an AD champion, then people started playing him AP and it was really good.
