I love playing as Twisted Fate, his mechanics make each game i play with him a delightful experience, different from the previous one, but i am having a tough time, since i am used to play as Carries, i feel like TF is lacking too many things, and he is.. anyone who has played this champion countless times and as actually dedicated some time to him, could you please indicate what are the best things to do and what not to do. i know i could check this in a guide or something but i don't use guides for a simple reason, i want to learn everything by myself.

cheers peepz

I'm about to release my guide tomorrow, it would really help you but i dont have the images ready for it yet! :(

My advice in short is to play safe till 6 then push and roam that is the tl;dr version for you.

Twisted Fate is generally built as an AP champion rather than a regular AD carry. A fairly simple build path would look something like this:

Boots + 3 pots -> Doran's Ring -> Doran's Ring -> Sorcerer's Shoes -> Needlessly Large Rod -> Rabadon's Deathcap -> Sheen -> Lich Bane

From there you continue to build high AP items such as Zhonya's Hourglass and Athene's Unholy Grail to maximize your burst.

Your general burst combo is to queue up a yellow card, hit with it, then follow up with a Wild Card over them. Then you run away while they're still stunned and wait for cooldowns.

Once you have your ultimate, try to look for chances to gank other lanes. This is going to be difficult until you have junglers in most games, but once you do, you can always just follow your jungler into other lanes for bigger ganks and extra pressure on the other lanes. If you don't have a jungler, try to teleport into lanes where the enemies are pushing, try to teleport into a bush so that they can't see you, and try not to teleport into lanes where your allies are at low HP. Other than that, practice.

Doesn't TF's teleport still reveal his spawn location, bush or not?

Didn't play against one in a long time to remember.

it doesnt darcurse just played against one and it didnt

but if you try to make your W and E proc at the same time youll see yourself doing good damage a lot, ive recently been try tf too but he does seem a lot stronger as an AP carry, more fun that way too

? It used to exhibit inside brushes, you can see the cards and stuff.

But it's what oxyde said; less experienced players are tempted to try and be aggressive in lane no matter what champ they play, and TF really isn't able to be that aggressive against most mids. The mentality is always safe farm, push post-6 and go use your mean ganks where you might be needed (prepare gold card before porting, obviously)

y'all right, i am too agressive, i cant deal with the fact that he just doesnt have any escape methods, no real burst, damn the only thing he's a threat to is minions and turrets, at least when i build him AP, once i built him based on AS and AD, on-hit TF, i totally dominated most of the champs, but that is something that happens 1 time in 10 games, because most of times, if i try to poke any champ in the lane he always knows the card i chose from W and he just keeps the distance, since TF's range is laughable, i'm only left with the option of using it on a minion.
He's a really flawed champion and Riot doesn't give two ***** about that, i love this guy but he's ruining most of my games.

then youre harassing wrong

you should harass with Q and when youre low on mana use the blue card on a minion

DO NOT HARASS WITH W ONLY USE IT WHEN YOU KNOW YER GONNA LAND IT

what are you leveling? you should go Q > W > E because the damage you do on Q early is good enough harass because those cards are probably going to hit people even if they move sooo slow

You're focusing on the wrong things. Twisted Fate is not a lane champion, he is a ganking champion and one of the best at what he does. At lower levels you may try to poke with Q and stuff, but truth is most top players don't do that with him coz it's not his deal. Q becomes easy to dodge if they're not stunned, it costs a ****ton of mana (which you can recover, but still you're pushing the lane and becoming easier to gank AND if you mismanage your mana and get ganked during that window you may not get to stun).

The deal is, you're in lane doing your thing. If they become cocky, you pull a few gold cards so they sit their ***es back. And when you're level 6, pay attention where your jungler is preparing to gank, see if there's a good advantage and you go there, creating huge numeric advantages for your team. You'll start landing kills/assists, and your team gains good advantage.
