1 - She's a nice pick. Usually her lane phase is meh from levels 1-5, but she can wreck face. I think an early fed Irelia is still the scariest champ of all, because she hurts and she's really hard to keep at bay/kill;
2 - As far as I know, she's doing great. Leona creates a kill lane, so she's obviously not for every AD Carry or against every setup, maybe her biggest flaw in lane is that her combo pretty much relies on hitting a skillshot, and if you miss you pretty much just run around until the cooldown wears off;
3 - You know, Riven used to be the number one top pick until some time ago (Darius Patch?). She's a very mobile bruiser (offtank), although she can also jungle. She dishes a lot of damage but falls off a lot lategame (imo).

Irelia is really good, I actually believe she got a mini-buff (extra range on her ult) last patch. She is really strong in teamfights, and can be a real bully in lane with gap closer + lifesteal. Certainly a good pick!
I personally don't like to play Leona, but if you plan on duo queuing with an ADC then you can try to pick her up. Just don't support in solo queue :P
Riven is comparable to Darius, Malzahar, Leblanc, and champions like that. Rather good in early game (laning phase) but once team fights break out she's not that useful anymore unless really fed.
Anyhow if you want to be 100 % sure you can wait until free week, or make an account on PBE (Public Beta Environment) where you get all champs for free.
Hope it helped ^^
P.S. Advice for next time: If you want help on picking which champ to get next, there's a big thread about it here.

I have a few Riot Points left, and I was wondering if it worth to buy the champions on sale: Irelia, Riven and Leona.
1- How’s Irelia after the patch? I heard that she got a nerf, right? Would you guys put some money on her, yet?
2- Leona is a support (as far as I know), and I never played as a support. I know that I will need some support champions when I reach level 30 (I'm 26 right now), but is she doing well nowadays? I don’t see people getting her on the competitive scene.
3- Riven is a mystery for me. I heard a lot about here, but I NEVER seen anyone picking her on the competitive scene. Is she a tank, an off tank, an ad carry, a jungle? What’s the deal about her? Does she worth the 400 riot points?
(Sorry for my enlish).
Appreciate so much, fellas.
