In season 2 TRM (The Rain Man) got two of his smurfs to 2000 elo and 1 smurf to 2300 elo in a couple of months. Theres is no elo hell. If you're good you go up simple as that.

I'm still unranked...I think I just have to play more. :P
After 4 or 5 games if you check your profile, it will still say "Unranked", but it will also say "Current Elo". I think that means that publicly you're unranked, but you can see what your Elo actually is. After 10 games it will display your top Elo as well as your current Elo, which I assume is when it becomes public, because it stops being "Unranked".
