Ahri is a mobile champion, which Brand is not. I could say she is a assassin type of character. Used lot's of times especially in higher levels.
Brand then. (Actually my first champion ^^)
He brings much AoE in team fights, but is very vulnerable to kiting.
Early gank and you can't do pretty much anything but to wish your skillshot stun to hit.
Both are good, but just take the one you enjoy more. Both are really good mids.

For now I'm more inclinated to Ahri because she seem's a great mid, (that can role on top or bot too) and have a nice way to get out of fight's that gone bad, when Brand cant.
Ps. I'm not a great support so I want a good mid who can kill, and one that is quick. If you guys think of another champion that I should consider please feel free to tell me
