I'm Portuguese, and that is my native language (and I'm called Pedro, pls vote for me ktx).
It's more complex than English phonetically and in terms of syntax, it can be made to sound beautifully but it's complexity also makes English generally "sound better" (in songs, p.e.). I like both for different reasons.
About my English domain, I speak it fluently, but I can make really silly spelling mistakes or occasionally express myself in an overcomplicated fashion.

My parents are both Chinese (grew up in Hong Kong for the most part), but I was raised in England. I can speak Cantonese, but my English is far better (for a start, I can actually write English).
However, from what I know of Chinese, it is a far more subtle language than English. Relatively easy to learn, but requires time (mostly to memorize the 'alphabet').

For me, my native language is Cantonese. Although now I speak English more fluently than Cantonese now xd. IMO English was just so much easier compared to Cantonese but still... forgetting most of my native language :x I'm ashamed of myself ;-;
