I typically play top or mid, so I'm fairly used to just doing my own thing in my own lane during the early stages of the game, as opposed to the more active Jungler role. That said, in some games it goes really well for me; I'm there at the right times, doing the right things. Other times, I go bottom looking for a gank, then suddenly top gets in big fat trouble, and I get blamed for not helping top.

While it would honestly be easy to say things like "I can't be at two places at once" or "if you keep feeding your lane I can't exactly hold your hand through the entire laning phase", I'm just wondering if you guys had any advice on things to do, look out for, etc. as a jungler. While I highly doubt I'd pick it as my most common role, problem is in most pick up games many times we do not have one in that role.

Thanks!

P.S. I usually run Udyr

you should always call out mia's if your team isn't doing since you will be looking at the map anyways to find the best ganking opportunity.

also you should move this thread to mentoring (^_^")

Owh my bad, I thought the mentoring forum was for people looking for individuals to train them.

I was just looking for general jungling advice. Coming from a Dota background, the jungle is a slightly different animal in LoL so its a fair bit out of my comfort zone haha

I almost always type a message to my team where I will be ganking next. If top can't read that you will be ganking bottom that is his problem.

Ping your ganks, or at least say something. Nothing is more annoying than the laner not following up on a gank because they didn't see you. Trust me, I've been on both ends of it.

Learn timers of the large camps and ward to be able to steal them from the enemy.
5:00 for red/blue buff
6:00 for dragon
7:00 for baron

Start learning when to just leave a lane cold. If they are towerdiving whenever they want, leave that lane cold as they'll probably just doublekill you and the laner.

Lastly, learn alternate gank paths, and how to get to them. This also helps your lane game because you know all these little, special ways they can get to you.

Don't gank bot before 5-6th level with Udyr, you will get kited and destroyed. Just focus on top or mid. Try to countergank enemy jungle, udyr is amazing dueler. Also you can put high pressure on their jungler, with udyr you can kill most of junglers (except olaf and 1-2 other exceptions).

usually your teammate should have good map awareness to see where you are on the map. if they are already losing and still play offensively, then it's not your fault.
