Yeah, it seems like Own3d wasn't paying a lot of people. Guardsman Bob and Phantoml0rd also switched to Twitch recently and CLG is moving to their own streaming site. When TSM switched to Twitch around a year or so ago they stated the reason was because they weren't getting paid.
As far as I can see Own3d has pretty much no popular streamers left now so it'll likely die on it's own.

omg sorry to double post .. just read this guys story. how could they do that to a man they asked to switch over, and also has a family? that is honestly really fricked up. I wish I had some way to impact the world , I'd totally boycott this shiet.

Psh, is there some sort of contract you sign when streaming on Own3dtv?
No, not unless you're a pro player and have an agreement with them, which was the case in this example. I'm not sure when you can start getting paid based on how many viewers you're getting though (if it's similar to youtube).

For own3d,
100,000 views per month or regular broadcasts with 300 average live viewers.
For twitch that number is 400 average concurrent viewers, and a regular broadcast schedule of at least 3 times a week.
Once you meet those requirements, you can apply for partnership.

Own3d probably got screwed by the # of ads being played versus the amount of advertising time the advertisers bought. Oh well. Destiny can probably sue them since the other guy broke contract multiple times before Destiny did. I think the only "top" streamer left on Own3d is... Athene, who gets like 2k viewers.
hi embracing. yes i play ff14 now.

Read this. Basically, destiny didn't get paid for 5 months of streaming -- and probably won't. Since that is his form of revenue, he essentially worked free for half a year.
