Is the community generally positive or negative?
There are a number of people that are negative all the time:
* Idiots
They play bad, and now they are angry and spread their rage amongst their team because they play so bad.
* "Know-it-alls"
They basically "Know-it-all", they just think that everything you can do, he can do better. For the sake of own ego! :D
* Trolls
They are just trying to destroy you really
* Victims
They once had a game where people were negative to him all the time, and now he wants to spread his negativity with the next game to people that had nothing to do with the negativity from last game.
I am sure there are some more, but the ones so you most of all are:
Idiots, "Know-it-alls" and victims. Trolls you will only really find when they are premade.
But that's just my expierence.
Overall, the community in LoL is actually not that negative, it is just those who speak, are really negative :P
Stay positive, make jokes, and just don't care when they say they want to report you, since reporting has no meaning when the Tribunal does not punish.

Frustration at people not doing what they want, i.e. playing well, playing as a team, not saving their worthless ***es when they've misplayed, not carrying their ***es for them, dragging their ***es down, etc etc.
Just people not getting things their way and then *****in' about it.

forza, you'll find trolls wherever you go. MOBAfire is good in the respects that it gives its users much freedom. However, it also gives dem trolls freedom as well.
Just try to have a positive way of looking at yourself. Our opinions about your ashe gaming don't really matter in the grand scheme of things. It only matters how YOU feel about your ashe play.
Granted, as you play more and more games, you will learn to realize that others' opinions are helpful and sometimes meaningful, but never belittle yourself.

Well, not always innocent posters... After all, you do get people who are raging about something legitimate. For example, someone who's carrying your team is getting dragged down by an extremely weak or uncooperative team is cause for annoyance. A weak link in the team is also cause for grievance.
You shouldn't always take what ragers say to heart, but you should also remember that they are actually sometimes right too. No, they might not need to rage about it, but if what they say is true, then you need to listen as well, regardless of whether they are raging or whatever.
And Utopus, you've misunderstood the idea of a troll. A troll deliberately goes out just to inflame people. But in this scenario, ragers are more likely to be what is meant.

I like the LoL community, you just have to find the right people. My big problem is when you have threads like this and others that say "the community is so terrible". Maybe people should look in the mirror and get out of whatever bad situation you put yourself in.
I have played randoms and not everyone is a complete jerk. People make it like you play randoms and everyone is out for your blood lol, that isn't how it is. I have met some cool people playing randoms. Even those who speak Spanish (I understand some).
If someone is being a jerk to you just ignore it. The whole "negative" attitude comes from that 1 guy who shat on you and then you take it out on everyone else because of 1 bad egg. You aren't some victim, you are being negative yourself.

There is a formula out there that partly explains it. Normal person + audience + anonymity = [insert preferred expletive adjective and noun here].
Most of the LoL population is male and young (teens, 20s and 30s) and as we all know, young males are highly competitive to say nothing of the inflated egos in this demographic. The fact that LoL is a competitive and manichean team game where matches are won or lost because of team performance fuels this mindset. As long as the demographic remains the same in a game where your identity is secret and where beating others is the aim, expect bad behaviour and naughty words.
