I'm looking into buying a new pair. One that will last me a long time and most importantly are comfortable.
I've been looking at Qpad QH-85 and QH-90 and Sennheiser PC360.

Now the big dilemma I've come across is that I can't decide whether I want closed headphones or open ones.
I found this info on it which was kinda useful, but I wanna know what people with experience think.

They're pretty much only gonna be used for gaming at home.

Anybody here have any experience with both kinds and could make a recommendation?
Also write if you've got experience with the Qpad headphones, I wanna know how big and how comfortable they are.

i acctually dont care, but I seem to chose closed ones, since it reverberates the sound and you probably won't have to set it so loud.

Depends on the environment, I guess.
You shouldn't get ones with an open-back in a shared living space etc.

Imo I like the closed ones since I often listen to musik while on the move and are more used to this kind of sound setting.
And while it sounds kinda weird (could come from the point above too) even with stuff like Skype/TS, I definitely prefer hearing the others in my head instead of in a faked distance.

well my guess is that you have never tried open backed headphones and it is probably a personal preference thing. the "closed back" feeling is what you get with most headphones/earbuds so it's prolly the safest option. i own a pair of closed back sennheisers (hd 280 pro) and like them a lot, though if you are a basshead they will be lacking for you in that department, pretty balanced lows/mids/highs.

Thanks to Xiaowiriamu for the sig!

paying more attention to this:

holy ****, that's expensive.
i also was never please with Sennheiser audio quality, but that's me.

the Qpad seems to have nice specifications, but i cant access PC360's, so i really can't make a comparison.

Thanks for the tips.

I think I'll be picking up the closed Qpad QH-90.
The closed QH-90 has better base than the open QH-85, and I kinda want that.

The Qpad headsets are like 40% cheaper than the Sennheiser PC360 and 20% cheaper than the PC350.

Most notably the mic is better on the PC360 and PC350.
The sound is also supposed to be a little better on the PC360/350, but probably not noticeable without a good sound card.
Those are no big deal to me since the quality on the sound and mic are both good on the QH-90.

The Qpad headset looks considerably prettier and has several different cords you can use.

I'd say closed headphones are "better". Sound doesn't have to be so high because there's almost no outside noise + sound should be clearer.

Er... You think it's expensive yet it's not pleasing to you?
How come?
Sennheiser is generally considered to be great quality in sound. (as far as I know)

Base will be better, but I don't think the sound will be clearer.
The volume can also be lower because less sound leaks out of the headphones.

two separate sentences, actually. price is common for both, so i should explain the audio quality matter:

what i wrote about that brand is just from trying the products that were avaiavle at a local store and i really didnt like it. i felt it was very sensible to internal noise and had a cuttoff/unsensitive bahavior thowards low frequency sounds.

anyway, price =/= quality.

Yea, that much is true, but the headphones you tried out probably weren't in the same price range.
They've been making a lot of headphones with really good sound in the ~150€ price range, according to gamers both in my vicinity and on the internet (stuff I've read).
