I know this seems fairly obvious, but I see a lot of people do this and catch myself doing it at times. Don't just run in a straight line. For example, I was playing against a Xerath this morning and I kept being ******ed and running in a straight line early. After getting hit by him several times, I started moving side to side a lot and so whenever I saw the indicator that he was about to fire off Arcanopulse I could dodge. Too many people try to run straight away from skill shots instead of to the side.
Also, you have to be careful with jumps like that one. some of the ones you think are jumps are actually programmed as dashes. I think a great example is Tristana's Rocket Jump. Had you been Trist, you would've hit that shroom. Also, learn what each champs jump can jump to. Some can jump to wards, so you can carry one with you and use it as an escape. Others are like flash and let you dash or teleport a certain distance. Some can only be used on enemies. Learn what your gap closer/escape can jump to and you will live longer.
Those aren't really huge tricks, but some small stuff I notice Pros doing that I am trying to force myself to do.

thanks scott. yeah i'm always trying to dodge duck dip dive and dodge lol.
it helps alot with nid spears and mundo axes.
also, thanks for the info on the dash/jump difference. i'm surprised tristana's is a dash and not a jump cuz it is animated as a jump isn't it?

Pretty sure the shroom wouldn't have hit you. Also, not sure if it still works, but you could use jumps/dashes like poppy or jax to get out of veigs stun without being stunned

If you're laning as
Xin Zhao and the enemy minions are not at your turret but the enemy champion is almost within turret range, you can pull a
Lee Sin and
Flash or
Audacious Charge to a minion (caring that the AOE doesn't hit the enemy so it
Challenges them) +
Crescent Sweep and they'll be knocked back to your turret.
They'll aggro it since they're in range while the minions were not and you just press
Three Talon Strike to knock them up to keep them their longer and kill them.

If I helped you out, +REP me ^_^

I think last time i tried that i still got stunned. pretty sure they did that recently.
Yeah, I think they changed the mechanics or Veigar's stun in one of the last patches.
Or maybe it was a bug and they fixed it, I'm not sure
Another cool trick is when you know there is a hard hitting spell coming at you, like Cait's ult or Karthus' ult, you can use your Zonhya's Hourglass to negate the spell on you, or if you're playing a champ like Vladimir or Fizz or Elise, you can just use their invulnerability spells right before it hits.
Another cool trick is when you're laning against someone with a global ult that they have to channel first, and you have hard cc like a stun or a knockup, try to get near them and use that hard cc on them while they're channeling it. It'll stop the spell from casting and their cooldown will still take effect.
And one last thing, when Shaco ults, he gains like half a second of invulnerability (right when you press it, the animation where he splits into two. You'll notice that he disapears. During that time, which is less than half a second I think). So you can troll people like Karthus when their ult is about to it and not get hit by it.
Actually, not the last thing, I have one more. If you're playing a champion with some type of clone or minion or Heimerdinger, you can use that clone/minion to block incoming spell shots, so it's a good idea to place the ones you can control between you and your enemy. Let's say a Nid or a Blitz is using their Q on you, you can just place a Heim turret or a Yorick ghoul, etc. right in the path of the shot and the minion/clone will take the hit. It's funny in ARAM vs Blitzes.

Teemo was p*ssing me off, as he usually does. So I sees him going farming around inner turret in my lane (top). So I run over there, hop on him, and the chase begins.
Here's what I found funny. I was about a Leap Strike behind him, waiting for the cooldown to finish. Just as it does, he pops a shroom right in front of me. I hop right over it, stun, and auto like a mofo for the kill :) I'd never done that before and hadn't even thought of that. Rotflol'd for a bit.
Same game there's a Lux who's ulting every chance she gets. We were in their base, and I'm running towards her face. Fast. She pops the ult and I quick sidestep, run behind her, and once again auto like a mofo while her ult charges and fires. Got that kill too!
So my question is this: Are there any other little nifty tricks/loopholes that anyone else has found?
