ever thought about changing runes in
9x health
3x essences armor?
=72 hp + ~21 armor
vs
78 hp + ~17 armor (how it's atm)
very nice guide - didnt read all the comments so sorry if anyone already discussed about this.
I feel like Supports can't utilize on it, in contrast with
e.g. a Jungler.
In your cheat sheet, you've put Talisman of Ascension as the way to go. Whilst in your "Item explanation", you've stated that the Face of the Mountain should be built. I tend to go Talisman but I don't really know what fits the best. Might differ from ADC to ADC.
(sorry if this is stated anywhere)
Just one comment above you, to be exact! Read the response below :p
Very nice guide.
Is this more of a tanky support Thresh build (with some AD/AP) or an AD/AP based Thresh build? Or a balance between AD/AP and tank?
Also, in the build on the top, it recommends to buy Boots of Mobility and Nomad's Medallion. But in the item build explanation, it recommends to buy Mercury's Treads and Face of the Mountain. Which items are better?
It's a Tank-oriented Thresh, definetly. I've put in some damage, absolutely, but it's a must right now in this season. And of course, the same question twice? Must be a hot one!
I don't know what to say other than: I haven't been able to update the item / Masteries section of the guide :( Only the cheat sheet! I will definetly try to update it this weekend, but I'm not sure.
TL;DR, CheatSheet = Season 4, ItemExplanation = Season 3! Also, blame college.

"When in lane, don't ward right away, wait for the 3-minute mark and wait until your team is pushed."
This guide forgot about trinkets! Get the Warding Totem to start and exchange it for Sweeping Lens after obtaining the Ruby Sightstone. Thus you can ward at 1:30 with the trinket.
Nope, the guide simply chose to ignore the Warding Totem trinket. When you wrote that, the guide already had come to the subject of trinkets: The Lens were in the main build!
Slight annoyance with your word usage aside, A) You cannot ward anymore at 1:30, only at about 2:00 (If I'm not mistaken). And even so, it's litearlly useless to ward at 2:00, it's a waste of a ward, specially if the other support is passive and/or you're in the blue team (less chance of being the first gank spot). It's still best to wait to use the trinket till around the 3:00 mark, either on the brush for you to see the other support (Perhaps get some hooks in!), or on the river brush as a VERY TEMPORARY gank prevention.
never even thougt about using relic shield on a range attack support o_o not bad :)
Remember, this only works better than usual thanks to
That's a good use of math, actually! Using averages to quantify and qualify the medium income is a valid way of classifying the usefulness of our little friend, but the thing is: A) Other gold income items offer a bit more in terms of pure stat, besides the gold gen. And B) In those calculations, you assume the best possible outcome: The fact that the owner of the shield will NEVER reach the maximum capacity of stacks, as every second spent in that cap is gold inefficient, thus costing the support. And it's... kind of impossible to never reach cap? (Specially considering, y'know, you start at the cap.)
But again, as you said, it's just as gold efficient as every other gold gen item tree! It's more about your situation and your preference than the champion you're using!
With the recent nerfs to
You might actually be spot on... specially with how many of the AP Carries recently have been of a more poke-centric kit... I'll edit it in and thank you, rest assured. :3
I'm fairly new to support and found your guide helpful. Do you have any streams?
That was my main issue with this guide, actually... I realized I was being far too reliant on that early kill, and even though it DID bring in SOME gold gen... it really wasn't enough. That's why I thought it was favorable to switch to
I will update my item / playing guide section soon. Also, no, no streams. :( Not good enough for that! ;(
