Yeah, that's true, but this guide was mostly made to see what I was doing wrong, which is why I made a topic on the forums about it. And while it would be nice to get a lot of traffic, I would have much rathered have people who legitimately wanted to help. If that means turning a few people off with an unattractive style (that effect being completely by accident), then I am OK with that.
That just leaves people who are willing enough to look into it and critique it without any fancy bells an whistles.
Alright, let's go!
This an in depth analysis on your guide.
"Early Rise Alistar: Get the Worm" What shall that title say me? Nothing.
My bad, I thought everyone heard the phrase "early bird gets the worm" growing up... The whole point was to tank early to be able to more easily deal with early threats via your Q and to agress more.
Clarity[...]Ghost[...]
It's not only about my mana, but my bot lane teammate. I am there, spamming heal to make sure they can stay around, with mana so they don't have to go back for that either. And Ghost, that's just personal preference due to how long I've used it and found it more versatile than flash. I understand that many people do not agree.
Alistar doesn't scale with attack speed. Why? Because all his spells got an AP ratio.
Again, this is really based upon early game, which I have been told time and again is the only time that rune pages really matter, due to their minimal impact.
Thank you for explaining that, I will edit those runes.
That's a really good idea, which will free me up a bit for money and some mastery points which were based around that... Good idea
Starting ruby crystal is simple horrible because you don't have any inner sustain, especially if you go for Q first. It also doesn't build into anything useful in your build.
Cooldown boots? The maximum of cooldown reduction is 40%. Thus your build got 40% too much of that anyways.
I originally had different boots, which meant I only got up to 40% based on what I was doin' (keep in mind, that, for some reason, this guide isn't showing how items build into one another, and I don't really know how to fix that)
Tear of godless is only a good item if you can stack it fast and profit from the flat mana bonus. Alistar does neither and thus shall never build this item.
Maybe, but I am able to get a few stacks each time I do end up going back to base, because of the strategy in the Cry, Baby, Cry section... However, if you have a better alternative, I might have to listen to it, as several people have concurred on this.
Would it be better if I built tear into something?
Skill order is a mess. First tipp: Max an ability by level 9. You must put 5 points in each ability at some point, realize ur E just got 4? And you got nothing at level 18? And you cannot skill your ultimate at level 15?
yeah... I never really got how to properly skill, but everyone thinks I should max by level 9, so it must be something important... I've always focused on building spells evenly so they are all fairly useful to me, rather than some being much more useful than others.
I'm too bored to talk about masteries. Just note that they should include greed and if biscuit then explorer too.
kk
complete and detailed. I will take this into account, as it really helps with the whole lack of money situation I had that required me to deal with minions too much...
and here I thought I was finally figuring out, I always got called a Noob Tank for not building warmogs, and now I'm a noob ali for building it. I used to not get Spirit Visage (just kindlegem for the CDR) but changed my mind because it boosted my healing to myself, which was nice for staying around and tanking longer. I figured that was more helpful, as it would also mean more saves with my body, if we're fighting enemies like Maokai, Elise or Caitlyn who's attacks zero in on a champion.
Yeah, I'll never say that my work was pretty, but, really, this guide wasn't really meant for beauty, more for analysis by people who know better than me, that is, people who watch others battle, do extensive research and slave over builds like you guys do. That being said, I appreciate all the work you've put in. I'll be making changes over the next few days to fix certain mistakes not relating to BBcoding.
Starting over seems like the best idea, as it will also reset the votes you have on this one. Good luck
I've been running this build for a few weeks, and I've had success with it, but this is exactly why I have put it up on here. I was sure that there was something I could be doing better to really make a mark on the Field of Justice...
But it bothers me when I get points marked off, not for my horrid build (because, let's face it, it's pretty much universally considered bad by the community), but for how I arranged my build guide. What does it matter? Ok, it isn't beautiful, but does it really have to be? I don't get it... Besides, if it's such a horrible idea, don't you want less people to look at it?
I'll prolly go back and bbcode, but I can't really be ***ed to do it if my build is **** anyways, I need to do a full rehaul on the build before I even give a rat's *** about making the guide look pretty.
