placement matches for me were almost exactly the same as playing in draft mode, except i was a little bit tense
seriously ranked isnt any different than normal games, most of the people in my placement matches were tryhards (which is a good thing in ranked) so just expect the same thing you would in a normal game and you should be fine

My advice would be to try to find a friend to duo your placement matches with. It helps too if they are a silver. You only have to win 5 matches to get placed into silver, then you'll never fall out of it(the only way may be if you go inactive for more than 28 days). This is my plan. One of my friends just did this and got placed in Silver IV I believe. He and a friend that solo'd and got put in Bronze are now trying to raise that bronze status to silver.
remember what people were like 175 wins ago? that.
Placements are basically just bronze matches, they're played with mostly other people placing, and they aren't that bad at all. if You've played a bit of draft mode you know how it works, hell if you've won any inhouses chances are you can win your placements.
also, silver I is better than silver V

Ban out GoodPlays GG
i won 5 of my placement matches if i remember correctly and i was placed in bronze 2 even with a 1250~ elo last season, weird
anyways its really no big deal placement matches are no different than draft mode and ranked in general is no different than draft mode, other than there being more tryhards and less trolls*
i put a star after trolls because there are many definitions of trolls, im talking about troll picks and people intentionally trying their hardest to lose in this case, of course youll still get the "WTF NOOB LRN2PLAY UNINSTALL" type of people

it actually takes 6 wins to get to silver V btw
From everything I have read and seen, that is true if you solo or duo with a friend in Bronze. If you duo with someone in silver(or it might be more specifically above Silver IV), then you can only win 5 and make it into Silver. The reason is playing against people with higher ELO or MMR. I've tried to do my research on that. I had a friend that did just as I described and made it into Silver. He played with someone in Silver 2 and only won 5 matches, but he was also playing against some players in Gold. So, I think it really just depends on the MMR of the people you are playing against.
I could be completely wrong on this, but it's what I keep finding and what people way more familiar with the game have kept saying.
