So I just bought Olaf last night. Have been interested to have him be a playable Top and Jungler.

Stat sites tell me he has the lowest win-rate across all tiers (all time). However, his win rate in Challenger is simply ridiculous. It now stands at 79% (elophant).

Fine, low number of games played. Nevertheless, it is a very impressive turnaround. In Diamond his win rate drops all the way down to 40%. What gives? Does a have a high skill cap? From what I've seen so far he doesn't seem to be THAT hard to master. Is there some Olaf savant just smashing people to a pulp up there in Challenger?

Anyways, I'd like hear some thoughts on that, since I intend to play this dude until a level of excelente that will make people scream NERF TEH OLAFZ!!1!!

Also, Urgot has an almost perfect win rate in Challenger. But that's a topic for another topic.

Well you gotta think about the players in Challenger, who have been using Olaf since season 2 or earlier. not every diamond player knows how to use him as well as the challenger players (who mostly make up pros and big name players). I'd think that'd be part of it, The players in challenger know how to use the character and when to chose them better, and many of them probably have experience in tournaments.

I've just checked per server, it seems like only NA Challenger peeps now how to play him. 88% win rate out of 82% of the games played (between NA, EU West, EU East).

Weird.

Anyways, why is Olaf's win rate so freaking low across the board? Just saw a vid of World Elite against Fnatic at IPL5 and top was Olaf, playing very well. I know, it's a pro. Either way, the character has the potencial to be played at a professional level and almost nobody know how to unlock his fearsome power? Or he just sucks, plain and simple.

His win rate was low even when he was OP.

It's because he's strongest when he's near dead, he's risky, people are really bad at man moding it with him (me). People either puss out too much with olaf or they jump the gun thinking his lifesteal can keep him alive through anything.

That seems like a good answer.

So, even when he was OP, people sucked using him because of his passive? Reasonable.

So, my journey to Olaf domination is based on if I can man-mode him. Just the way I like it. I reckon first games I'll be something like x/xx/x but whatever. Ragnarok *****es.

He was nerfed because of health stacking. Then they nerfed health.
