Explain. Give a brief summary of skill order/clear speed, soul income rate, counterjungle potential, buff control, sustain, mobility, blue reliance, gank DPS, lategame relevance, team comp synergies, and evaluate success over a large number of games instead of the outcome of a single 5v4.
Viable, but due to souls being seen when you are in range, which is rather large, you have to be very careful about your route or you will telegraph to everyone where you are. The cc is nice and can allow your lane too follow up even if they are a slower champ. As with all supports they need very little gold to be worth while so could scale nicely if done right.
I would probably go spirit of the ancient golem on him instead of madreds though for the health, regen, cdr, and tenacity. I suspect his first clear will be rough but will get progressively stronger such that madreds will be overkill. another nice factor will be his lantern for scouting while counter jungling(this could save 300 or so gold a game). Not to mention his ability to jump to camps with his q giving him a very nice ability to escape a failed invade.
If you do start countering I might get madreds but otherwise I would stick to a spirit item.

If you felt I contributed or am just cool, drop me some rep +1 rep?

This and anything I say are my opinions (in no way facts), that are continually evolving as time goes on,
as I am far from an expert and always striving to learn more.

Skill order was W>E>Q max E. Ask for a smiteless blue then go for your red, as soon as the big lizard reaches you, push it away (same with golem) when he comes back, shield yourself you can do a full clear if you get the smiteless blue. I didn't explore the counter jungling possibilities, but the ganking were subpar. If you can always come from behind and throw the lantern to your allies, push the ennemy away try to get the more AA possible off. Usually you don't have to use your Q (like nautilus) and keep it if they try to escape. I think that it's as viable as any other jungle, despite the really slow first clear once you get madred's you're set.
I used ASPD Red - Armor Yellow - Flat AP glyphs - MS Quints

Special note (lugi kinda make me notice): This is why riot can't allow ranged junglers, with red buff it's just way too good.
Ps: The shaco got bullied a lot after getting killed a 2nd time (where I had around 10 health and kitted him with red buff) the jungle was actually quite successfull for the first 6-7 minutes and I think could still do good into late game. You can do skirmish with your mid always first in the jungle and throw him a lantern if it goes bad. Tons of cc, nice front line.
Anyway, I'm not too much into testing stuff, I just tought it would be worth a try and did it. If you guys want to dig more into it, I can garantee good results depending how you handle it! :)

They don't see souls spawn if they have no vision of you.

Well I do believe you, but do you have a source on that? o-o
I don't play thresh often I must say
I play enough botlane to know this to be true. Since you want proof from Riot, here's a red post I found after 5 seconds of using Google.
