Hardly. I entered my point of view last page and there has been no response since. It is not derailing the thread, but rather keeping it on track by addressing these derailings. If a mod were to come in, only to say 'stop derailing the thread', he would not be accused of derailing the thread, but keeping it on track. Whilst I am not a moderator, the thought process is the same, only that I lack the 'perceived authority' to enforce. It's not sophistry, it's true and it has substance. You do not say anything that makes any of the things I said any less true.
I would also happily stop my 'derailing' if people were to stop derailing. Do you understand this?
Also, if what you say is true (not that it is), doesn't that mean you are also doing the same thing?

I'm a little confused to what the huge fuss is about.
People *****ed about MFTV's stream being autoplay / mute
MFTV closed the stream
Yet people are still unhappy?
Can someone explain why everybody is being so immature? It's an advertisement, identical to any other one. Get over it.

so yah itll be fine; haters gonna hate, jello gonna be jelly whatcha gonna do.
there isnt much of a point discussing this since there is no issue of moral actually being discussed; its just people who dont understand how online marketing/promotion works.

Don't derail this thread just because you're done with the discussion. Talking about things like ice cream when we're having conversation about a serious issue is not cool.
sirell, tone it down. I agree with what you said, but definitely not how you said it.

People have not complained about this after the stream went offline. The stream was taken offline to deal with this before we move on.

@Wayne3100 yes I apologize for digressing the discussion on a serious issue, but I still maintain my stand that the last few pages of discussion(before my dumb comment) were unconstructice, repetitive and accomploshing absolutely nothing. If I were to put it in a serious tone, I would say:
guys, unless you can think of more points, constructive discussion is figuratively over.
gosh, I touched the nerves of so many moderators, veterans and reds today, I'm so sorry......

It wasn't a mistake, they had every right to do so and Twitch allowed them. It's not a problem, YOU may think its a problem, but Mobafire has every right to do so. If you have such a problem with this, you should take it up with Twitch.
as far as PR it's being handled very well imo. The reason you don't think it's being handled very well is because you didn't like it being embedded (despite the fact they were allowed to)
PR = public relations
mobafire is saying "yo this isn't our fault, but we are just going to shut down our streams, thanks community"
to most people, it looks like they are trying to cover up a pretty obvious attempt at view stealing. they aren't owning up to it, leading to a negative reaction from the public. = poor public relations

How is it fake? If I watch TV and don't watch advertisements, just look away, I'm still counted as a viewer. That's how prime time television works; the companies pay for advertisement time, regardless of people are watching or not, they ASSUME viewers. It's the same for anything else, billboards, web advertisements, etc etc. If you visit a website, and a stream is there, you are a viewer. If you catch a train and there's a no smoking sign, and you smoke and you get arrested, you can't claim that you didn't know there was no notice - it's your job to be aware of what is around you.
you CHOOSE to watch tv. your tv doesn't just turn on dimmed so channels can get more ad revenue. people did not know that they were counted for the viewer portion mobafire and did not open the stream by choice. this is quite a bit different.
the way you can compare this to not watching commercials on TV would be not watching commercials on twitch, which is a comparison that noone is making. the entire point of billboards or any ad is to be SEEN, not neatly tucked away in the corner.
You need to log in before commenting.
And you calling me a '12-year old punk' is kind of the pot calling the kettle black.
And like I said, that is your opinion, but clearly not the opinion of the 'last 20 comments'. And even if it was the case that the last 20 comments are going in circles, whereon does that then give you the right to suddenly derail the thread? That, sir, is actually immature. You are unable to hold a sensible discussion and therefore should get
the ****out. If you want to talk about proper channels, then talk about proper channels, not talk about ice-cream flavours.
If you think there's nothing to discuss, you SAY NOTHING.
