it's S2 and you got a much better rank than him but check it out...
I'm not sure if I follow, but the impression I'm getting is that you think Sona should do away with support oriented items and build towards heavier AP to increase the active on her abilities and improve her dueling potential. While cute, I don't think it's viable nor productive to lock into a serious ranked queue tunneled on this style of play. There are better roles (and champions) suited for offensive items and roaming.
The only stat Sona benefits greatly from outside of simply building tanky is CDR. I do my best to stress the importance of 40% CDR within the guide and do not believe that she has her place in items like Deathcap or DFG.
I also don't agree with the build being "for newbies" as this is a commonly accepted and proven way to pilot Sona in the current meta. Sure, your items might change from one game to the next depending on whether or not your jungler takes on the role of aura items. But that's just supporting in a nutshell - nothing you do from one game to the next really holds any relevance.
hi!^^ sorry for the late response.:) well i'm not saying do be completely off with the usual support items(wards and shurelya in particular) but keeping your team's hp on high level means they got more time to deal with opposing champs. having sona equipped with
Item Sequence
would give you an AP of something like +500 excluding your runes and masteries setup. let's just say i prefer supporting my team with healing instead of visibility and a sudden burst of movement. we are all aware of how squishy
