In team fights you abuse your Poke thx to how good Liandrys is on her. Once the full engage starts and someone gets low you assassinate them in spider form. You can also Rappel onto their back line and take out their adc/apc if you're decently fed.

Your build is fine. In late game, stick to your carries/ADC and protect them with your rylai's/liandry combo. Consider, void staff & abyssal.
During late game the last thing you want to do during team fights is jump into the enemy ADC & get burst down. Let the tanks/bruisers come, peel for the ADC & then based on your instincts, jump on the enemy ADC at the time where you can burst them to death. This must be done after dealing enough damage to their front line with peel (whether you live or die the team fight will be won).
The best thing you can do is zone with your skills and E one of the frontline members who is diving your ADC.

- I get a kill early with a gank, or I just push my opponent home
- I go gank a lot, get some kills, everything goes fine
- midgame hits and I start losing my edge as people start going together, but I sometimes manage to pick up a kill or two
- I keep running around the map, trying to take their buffs whenever I can
- lategame comes and I'm totally screwed, I can't fight in a 5v5, because I use my 3 spells and have to run, because I just die too fast in spider form to anyone with decent items
I feel that the small poke that Elise has in form of Volatile Spider and Neurotoxin becomes useless lategame. While Neurotoxin can do 15% current health, it's not AoE, it has short range and quite high CD and I usually don't cast it more than two times during a teamfight.
I'm not sure how to abuse the spider form offensively against bruisers, as they take me out really fast :\
