Mercury's Treads are the best boots in almost every situation, to be perfectly honest. They should really be your default boots on a tank like Malphite, unless you're playing him as a carry, when it's then viable to consider Sorcerer's Shoes. You should really only get Ninja Tabi against a team with little to no CC and upwards of 3 physical DPS champions. Otherwise, always stick with Mercury's Treads.

Even champions like Master Yi will grab red buff or some sort of CC in order to deal just a biit more damage where then Merc treads will definately help.

To be honest, if you are lvl 30, it is quite rare to meet these kinds of teams, unless they are all premade and have some sort of special tactic. Most matches you get into in higher levels, will consist of someone CC-strong on the enemy team, and if you do not get Mercury's Threads, that one person might be capable of wiping your entire team including you. (Being locked down in combination is bad for anyone, tank or not)
IBoL might work for Malphite for increased use of ulti and his other skills ofc, but it doesn't really work for the tanking purposes aside from slowing enemies hunting your teammates down.
BoS could be good as well, but that would in my eyes only be an option if you are feeling dangerous, and seem to be dominating the game pretty well. Elsewhat, like IBoL, it doesn't do much for the purpose of tanking.

I am going with Tabi most of the time on him. Keeping in mind that i could swap later on for Merc ones or even sorc ones.
Why Tabi most of the time?
Well i like to go 9/21/0 masteries, that dodge with nimbleness masteries and shard will keep you extremaly mobile, also armor = damage on malphite.
Now why not merc? Well the HP shield should be enaugh for most harras early game done by casters. Mres from runes should be more than needed early game. CC reduction is nice but tbh you are a tank so if they waste cces on a tank... they should be dead ASAP by your carries.

They are both good for him, But Ninja tabi is great for his dodge and armor, But also Mercury's are great for his resistances, So it's basically situational, But what's better for every instance? Is there another pair of boots good for him to just, Use when there are no situations of magic? Or is ninja Tabi just the best overall?
