Can Casual Gamers become Good at LOL?
Yes they can become good at LoL.
Every hardcore gamer started at some point as a casual player (or even as a non-player) and they all learned how to do hardcore games well.
@your answers though; "Absolutely they could even make Rank", do you mean that they can even play ranked? Then definately yes. Do you mean if they can get a high rank? Also yes, but it will be a slow and longer process :P

What is the definition of a good player?
I consider myself as a good player, I win more than I loose and I rarely do mistakes and most important of all I WARD, A LOT.
I sort of left the definitions subjective in hopes for responses like yours. :) As you have defined what good is from your point of view, which I think is interesting. My definition is pretty close to what you have described here. I see a good player as someone who is skilled with fairly in depth knowledge of the game and how its played. Higher win to loss ratio... though sometimes that can be somewhat out of a players control, especially if playing a lot of soloQ

ah yes I was actually alluding to making a high rank in game. I guess my poll answers could use polish.

LoL is pretty casual, learning curves aren't steep and skill ceiling on every champion is quite low. However, what counts is your ability to keep track of multiple things at once; such as cooldowns of your opponent, incoming ganks, summoner spells, opportunities to harass without being harassed back etc.
This video sums it up perfectly:

I don't play LoL anymore.
It depends on the person.
Some people just learn and adapt faster, their mechanics are already top. For example SC2 pros, who switchted to LoL.
Within a short time Destiny went to Diamond, he didn't even know most of the champions, it was just the mechanics he had from Sc2, reaction times and decision making he worked out (through other pros etc). but oh well, he is no casual gamer.
I mean there are so many legit bronze V, just becauste they have no idea what they are doing. And then there are some Diamonds, which play LoL as a game in between like tetris D:

The only way to get better as a casual gamer is to set easy goals, if the player wants to just have fun and enjoy the game, but at the same time get better at playing the game. Setting easy goals like having a cretin amount of cs at a certain point in the game until they can achieve that consistently then making new goals.
Basically anyone can get better if they set goals, and I'm not talking about goals like making diamond, but goals that you can make in every individual game example, having the least amount of deaths on the team, most CS, having so many wards placed by 20 minutes, etc, and having most kills on the team is a bad goal to have in most cases, because objectives are what wins game not most kills and just breeds a false sense of skill and brings about bad attitudes

Absolutely. I personally feel the only thing holding me back is time. I usually play 1-2 games/day, sometimes not even a single match. And LoL needs at least SOME time spent to get knowledge of other champions to understand the best strategy to beat them or synergize with them or whatever.
As that video pointed out, it's more of a mental game since the mechanical skills required aren't that high. Knowledge is key.

I like this a lot, am going to implement it for myself. Simple and encouraging.
