Wayne3100's Quest for Platinum (Season 3)

[[Jax]] then roamed mid and killed GMD, after which our Malph disconnected for roughly 4 minutes and they got the Dragon. Within the space of a few minutes, we lost all map pressure/vision we had and found ourselves unable to fight them. [[Tristana]] caught up in cs since it wasn't safe for me to go to lanes or even our jungle (I got caught at our wraiths once, decided not to go anywhere outside of our base after that) and they won the game quite easily. I bought the [[Iceborn Gauntlet]] to try and keep the strong [[Xin Zhao]]/[[Jax]] off me, but it didn't matter much as we were overall just too far behind to win any big fights (and [[Ahri]] also wasn't overly impressed by being slowed while she was dashing towards me with her ult, lol). Overall, we deserved to lose and I have to say the [[Jax]] played really well, but I find it incredibly frustrating how I can be 30 cs ahead of someone - purely because of my mechanics being better - without it making any difference in the grand scheme of things since they were just ahead as a team. [quote=Wayne3100]I'm a top lane main, so most of my games on him are definitely top (16 out of 17 ranked games so far, only jungled him once because my main jungler - [[Jarvan IV]] - was taken). In terms of skill order, I started out maxing Q > W > E since that is how Wickd does it (he originally inspired me to play the champion), but I've switched to Q > E > W, because his [[Elastic Slingshot]] is just such a strong ability once you max it, it's crazy. Not until recently did I realise that's also how Voyboy plays him. Early laning is mostly about farming and poking with [[Stretching Strike]], but you can also use your [[Elastic Slingshot]] offensively (preferably from one of the lane brushes) and throw a quick E + W + Q in there before backing off while picking up as many health chunks as possible. Doing that should result in a won trade 9/10 times, though you should realise that your [[Elastic Slingshot]] is also your escape ability, so it is best to only do this when: [indent][list][*]the river is warded / you know the jungler is elsewhere [*]you can go for a kill (just combine the combo with [[Let's Bounce]] + [[Ignite]], gg) [*]you've already put some points into E (as the cooldown becomes lower and lower) [/list][/indent] Of course it's also not logical to jump in like this when you have a giant minion wave pushing towards you and/or the enemy is strong enough to just fight and kill you, but that much should be obvious. His playstyle for teamfights is very similar to jungle [[Zac]], though I'd say the biggest advantage top lane [[Zac]] has is that he'll have more cs/gold and he'll be tankier as a result of that. With the base damages on [[Elastic Slingshot]] and [[Let's Bounce]] being as high as they are, it is usually pretty easy to jump onto a squishy carry and zone them from the fight completely. ....I'll stop now before I get too carried away, but if you have any specific questions just let me know (or just give him a spin and see if you like it, of course) :3[/quote]

Basically Roselight asked me whether I'd be interested in duo ranked despite her being Silver IV, and I was in a good mood so I figured "why not". I was thinking of first picking a top laner, but since someone else called it I decided to lane with Rose instead and pick [[Ezreal]]. [[Varus]] and [[Nami]] (who were also premade) actually played the lane really well and were generally stronger than us because of the combo they were playing, so we had quite a tough time bot. Luckily, [[Morgana]] killed [[Karthus]] in mid about three or four times (no idea how that's even possible) so we had some sort of advantage there. During the mid game, they had some pretty good plays which looked to pull them ahead of us, before we countered with some good teamfights which brought us back into it. As you can see, the game eventually lasted forever as we had to slowly try and push into their base while every misplayed teamfight meant they were storming down upon ours. We got most of the Barons, but did lose our inhibitor several times and looked to have lost it once when two or three of us died in a teamfight, but the rest managed to keep the remaining enemies at bay in our base and when everyone got back we had a great teamfight in which we killed everyone except [[Nocturne]] and managed to end the game. Intense stuff. Yay promos!
