I didn't downvote you, I actually complimented your thoughts. I also said I didn't read the guide entirely, mainly because I'm not playing it often anymore (I felt like playing it is like playing blackjack: 90% luck, 10% skill - You can "max out" your skill level, but you're always heavily dependant on who you're matched with).

Oh, Super Metroid... good old days! Not to mention the fighting games' guides, with all special moves, combos, finishing moves, unlockable characters... Dude, we are old!

I spend the time to write a guide saying lets be nicer and more understanding with these kids...

I get slammed and downvoted and hated on for hating kids.

Seems legit...

Nicely writtin! I love the fact that contrary to other guides there is no bbcoding just plain and simple. Iv'e always preferred reading instead of having all the pretty bbcoding and everything else. usually contains much more information (though i have to admit some of the guides are *pretty* yet at the same time have the info to back it up).

@ Sirell and Satella. Riftborne was not aiming this to offend anyone in particular.(not from what i was reading). He was more talking from his background in psychology. I am at the moment 24 years old and you know what? i have to admit that in those ages 12- early twentysome now that i look back i find that i was an idiot that thought i was ALWAYS right. Which is why my parents let me be and experience life. Those ages don't have as much life experience as the older community which leads to less *maturerity*. Leagues being a heavy teamwork reliant game is kind of hard to play when your whole team is off chasing kills instead of objectives because they think its the right thing to do. What one thinks is the right thing to do and does not want to improve is not good in which falls a huge majority of people who play games are between the above stated ages.
My 2 cents on this. If you don't agree with it so be it. We all have different opinions and we should still respect each other.

Pretty sure you're the only commenter so far who actually read the guide.

Although I didn't read the whole guide, I understand what you've pointed out concerning maturity.

I've seen myself in so many games that the only thing my team could think was "push mid". It is not easy to adapt youself to a new set of conditions - it requires experience and will to improve.

However, when you are talking about psychological (not sure about the term) maturity, I don't believe it relates to one's age. Moreover, having "real-life maturity" does not imply "in-game maturity", and vice-versa, since they have a different set of rules and environment.

I loved the old fashioned txt walkthru/guides files we had when internet was dial-up. Sometimes they saved me big time, or just helped me to reach 100% completion of that game. But today, if you want people read your stuff, you gotta make it a bit more appealing.

Thanks for the guide, mate.

I specifically said that maturity is not always directly linked with age depending on circumstance. I love that people are criticizing something they very blatantly didn't read. Definitely inflates my faith in humanity to levels unknown.

You're welcome, btw. And trust me- if gamefaqs didn't exist I would have put down a lot of super nintendo games long before I did. Not because I couldn't beat them- I always beat a game before I look up a walkthrough. But dear god, the amount of hidden stuff in some of these games is astounding.

Who would have known about the 10 rarest items in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night without a guide? No human being alive would have "accidentally" gotten all 10. The odds are monstrously low.

Who would have known SPECIFICALLY how to get EVERY different ending in Chrono Trigger? Metroid? Pretty much any legendary RPG/Metroidvania style game?

They're lifesavers and often add MORE depth to gameplay. The good ol' days... back before every game that exists literally holds your hand through the entire game and never lets you get lost or stumped. Back when dying 100 times at a single boss was just part of the experience. Back when killing a boss didn't mean "beat on him for 2-3 minutes and enter a button combination to enter a pre-animated epic kill cutscene".

Applying psychology to league of legends? Nice idea, but with the example you used with the Trist afking, I feel like you're shifting the blame of younger players simply because their developing their maturity (Through you did not directly say this), please feel free to tell me if you didn't mean to convey this.

Your logic is flawed. The enemy team has the potential to have 5 bad players whereas your team could only have 4 max. By your assumption that "kids" are bad players, you should instead play during the supposed hours when said population dominates, to maximize your chances of winning.

When did I mention anything about them being toxic? My main point is that they do not play the game from a teamwork standpoint but from a glory gaming standpoint.

Most of the guide was arguing in the favor of BETTER treatment of these players.

Did you read it at all or did you just make an assumption? Have you tried having a microscopic hint of patience before judging something or acting or have you had this impulsiveness all your life? Because frankly, and possibly to your embarrassment... most of what you've said is identical to the points I made in this guide.

Try reading it before you go off on a tangent.

And yet you suggest playing ranked during the peak hours where kids are at school.

Hm.

Sorry, there is quite simply no need for a guide on when to play ranked. There is pretty much only the following criteria:

Good internet
Confidence
Ability

I might include good health, but if you have the above and the necessary number of champions, you're pretty much set to go ranked.

The moment you said that you're a psychology major, I discounted this.
