I am prety new at this game but i am playing with voli and i can't undertand why all of the guides all of the people in the builds put defense and defense and after that... more defense... may be it is because i am new but i make my build with more offensive items than defensive to be faster and deadly, for example i really like zefphyr blade, an other item that i like its trinity force... together with a pair of boots voli its really fast and has a lot of atack speed.. correct me if i am wrong because i am learning as fast as i can and i cant understand this kind of things my style of play its pretty agresive
Sorry that I am responding a few days after you posted. The reason that people build Volibear with a lot of defense is because of a few reasons. First of all, in order for a team to function (it is a team game after all) it generally needs one or two people to soak up damage (at least a little bit of it). As Volibear, you can become tanky, while still doing a good amount of damage. If you don't get tanky, you won't survive long enough for your full damage to take place. Another reason is that Volibear's passive scales (i.e. gets better) with the more health that Volibear gets. He has an amazing passive, that restores a large percent of his maximum health over a short duration. He becomes much harder to kill if he gets a lot of extra health, then his passive kicks in when he is almost dead, then he has more than half of his health again. All in all, it makes him able to survive a lot more damage, so that you can do more damage yourself in the long run.
I wouldn't get
There are better starting items,
You shouldn't run full offensive masteries if you are building that squishy early game
adding some more in-depth information would be nice
I'd recommend archiving this guide and playing in season 4 a bit and then I'd make a new guide with better coding & knowledge
