I have been wondering this for a while now, I said it to alot of people and they say it can't be done however people are using Annie as a support alot nowadays even though she has less to offer in the support role.

At least with Jinx you got the Flame Chompers! to stun and Zap! to slow enemies down.

Does anyone else think Jinx could in theory be a support champion in the same way as Annie is?

Nope, most purposefully because she's really squishy and lacks a good escape, her cc abilities are nonexistant and not getting the gold out of minions still hurts her quite badly, even if supports get more gold now. There is no reason to use her as a support.

I'm streets ahead. If you don't get it you're streets behind.

would you say the same for Annie then? And you say Squishy and yet ALL Supports are squishy and lack escape :/

Yes ,but Annie has super long range AAs coupled with huge base damage burst and on almost on demand AoE or targeted 1.75s stun. Also TIBBERS!

Jinx on the other hand has short range until you put points in Q and if you do that then your Zap! suffers greatly ,also her 2 forms of CC are easily avoidable and are not that strong to begin with.

If you wanna mess around with ADC acting as a support try Ashe least she can poke with her long range AAs has a passive 100% crit for more poke, long range cone poke that slows, on hit perma slow + her ult provides with lots of pick off/initiation potential and is really good for setting up ganks.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Jinx scales so well with items, I don't see why you wouldn't play her ADC... Annie has Flash- Summon: Tibbers stun for utility, which Jinx just doesn't have in general.

There's just no real point taking a champion out of a role she excels and putting her into a role which other champions do better.

Annie gets bonus armor and magic resistance from her shield in addition to having a reliable stun and not needing to be close all the time to do something.

High range for harrass.
Decent shield.
Reliable stun.
Scales well with levels and few items.
Incredible teamfighting presence with ultimate.
Flashtibbers is one the best engages in the game.

Jinx is squishy with not so good CC, both of which are very dodgeable. Needs items to do anything.

Jinx doesn't stun, she only roots (and no it's not the same thing). Jinx cannot be compared to Annie at all lol that's like the worst comparison I've ever heard today.

How many of these threads are going to be made anyway? lol
A good support champion is not just any random champion who obtains a sort of crowd control.

Exactly this.

For example, Syndra isn't a strong support champion despite her Q-ult-E stun combo because Sona and Annie both have a skills which are easier to pull off which does the exact same + better. When there are better alternatives, considering champions such as Jinx for support just becomes redundant, especially when she excels so much in a different aspect.

I mean, you want to pass up 110% AD, 140% AD, 100% AP and 50-100% AD scalings just so you can play her as what...? An unreliable slow/snare bot? When there are so many other better alternatives?
