Hey Azalea, just curious.

How did you turn the sparkles from the Greentunic 4-12 fractal blue?

They are originally either gold or pink.

Spoiler: Click to view

These fractals? Oh, I just used the "Hue and Saturation" option to turn them blue. I messed around with the settings and the layer options to lighten a few areas. I hope this helped ^^

Doesn't that change the black background to blue as well?
Meaning that screening the layer will have no effect at all.

That's what happened to me O.O

Just left the house and I'm waiting for a bus, so I'm on my phone.
What does ctrl+u do?

In gimp, at least, hue/saturation changes the overall family of colors in an image while preserving the difference between them (meaning it's still more than one color). To make an something the same color all over, you need to use colorize.

but I dunno if photoshop has both of those options or not.

I thought ctrl+u just makes it black and white?

Ctrl+u in CS6 (what I use) changes the image info for the layer only (meaning you'd need to duplicate your layer before adjusting it) rather than creating a whole adjustment layer. Unless masked, the adjustment layer will of course effect everything under it.

(I don't know the technical terms for any of this.)

What nameless is describing - colorize - should also be in the same menu as ctrl+u.

And no offense intended, but I think it's better if interested persons "learn photoshop" in general rather than "follow a tutorial on deviantart to learn how to overlay the same 10 fractals on a signature [in photoshop]"...
