I have an IRL friend who did this. I used a very simple solution to get him to stop doing it.
I kicked him from the Skype call and muted him in game, telling him that if he persists on doing it, I will continue to mute him as long as he keeps doing it. We're good friends in real life, but **** his attitude in-game, man. It completely distracts me from my game and I lose focus.
After I re-added him, I noticed he raged a considerable amount less. Actually, he talked a considerable amount less. As a result, his own gameplay improved a lot more and he got out from Bronze II to get to Silver III a few weeks later (prior to this, he fell to Bronze IV).
Sometimes all you need is a bit of tough love.

I understand Jim. He is frustrated because he is losing. Although he has a reason to be angry, expressing yourself in such a manner can affect the people around you. For example, I get sad when people rage at each other is solo-queue. They don't realize that RAGING doesn't help. If you are angry and bloodlusted you won't be able to see things around you. So you will have less map awareness, less focus and also you will lose any hope to win.
Sad but true. Try to stay calm because defeats are only in the small picture, wins will come, even if you are going on a losing streak :)

We would use the "tough love" method if he wasn't as stubborn as he is. Like seriously..the dude always has to be right. He never says he's wrong about anything no matter how stupid his arguments are xD

Yeah I sorta rage sometimes too but it's mostly in my head. I avoid the chat 100% because my raging would affect my teammates.
