It is exactly the same situation when you look at those apps that you can get on your iphone for free. They have an amazing graphics, gameplay, story line, etc.. but if you really want to enjoy them, you have to make some in-game purchases for some ridicilously low prices. But that is how their developers are paid off.
I just rarely bought skins in the past but after my previous purchase I won't do it again as I got furious. Paying 10€ for a broken Rumble skin it is like a robbery at daytime.
1. The difference between Riot's model and every other mobile app with ingame purchases
You can play the game on the same level as every other player. Regardless of whether they've spent thousands of dollars, or haven't spent a penny. For any given champ, there's no difference between a paying player and a freeloader.
Mobile apps with micro purchases however are a different story. Paying players actually have an edge over non-paying players.
In short:
League: Practice/skill makes you advance.
Mobile apps: Money makes you advance.
That's the reason I spent money on RP.
Cause it's for my personal entertainment, not for 'cheating'.
2. No one forced you to buy the Rumble skin.
Really, you were in control the entire time, you chose to buy RP, you chose to view the skins, you chose to buy the skin. How the f**k can you say it's robbery?
They place a value on a digital item. If you buy the item, you agree upon the value. If you don't agree, why the f**k did you buy it then?
3. They could make Ward skins available for IP
But they'll never make champion skins available for IP.
If you like the game, support the developers.
