Would be nice if they would release a server so that one could play with whatever add-ons they want locally, but that's never going to happen.
I think it's good they do this though, I don't think they will start targeting users but it'll stop companies like Curse from creating apps like these. And it's clear.

********'s a pretty good fertilizer
My opinion is basically that if Riot bans all 3rd party mods BUT implemented what Curse Voice currently does (allied timers, dragon and baron timers if you had sight during their death, plus an in-game voice-chat system), it would be swell.
if they do do that i dont think theyre going to do the voice chat because there isnt really a way they could moderate that unless they recorded it all
plus who really wants to be in a voice chat with 4 random people anyways

a and c are the same which would provide the time for all the team.
If i'm playing a good game, I don't have time to stop what i'm doing and saying my ult timer in chat, having a random light suddenly go green is the dumbest idea it's a halfway implementation.
A: Seeing the monster die. Not on minimap, but the death visible on your screen.
C: As it is currently, no text for blue/red. And a ward is enough to get the message, one needn't focus on the actual monster.
Just highlighting the difference.....
Tbh, why not show timers on ally summoners?
And have a clearly visible indicator when ally mana is below 10-25%?
While we're at it, get the tower range indicator into ranked.
It might be worth looking into the folowing solution:
Easy mode ranked: With all the timers and indicators possible.
Hard mode ranked: Game as it is now.
The game is supposed to be hard, there are supposed to be limitations.
I still insist on not having timers at all. The reasoning behind this is that one' s performance stops being purely judged by what he is worth, which in my opinion also involves being able to make good decisions based on facts you should be aware of/ remember. Allied champions ultimate cool downs could be a thing but even then I feel that the green bullet is enough or that it is a responsibility of your teammates to inform you when abilities with impact are on. I believe that this is another determining factor of teamwork and could judge which team wins the game.
Nerapi,
Based on a recent announcement from Riot, and our desire to always remain in compliance with their wishes, we have taken the proactive step of removing Ultimate, Dragon, and Baron timers from Curse Voice. We are happy to oblige in any way we can to provide the best experience possible for our users and trust their judgement in setting those guidelines.
We strongly believe in the core functionality of the product, and that is to allow players to choose, or not choose, to speak with other gamers in the best VoIP solution for gamers. It is also our understanding that this change in functionality falls within the new guidelines set by Riot.

In Summary, they have taken out all the timers but kept the voice chat enabled. Do you guys think thats gonna float Riots boat or is it still going to be against their TOU?
Here Siv talks about curse voice in general but i find especially about the voice chat.
I personally find the implementation of the voicechat just by itself is enough with the allies ultimate timers being an add-on that could be useful.
But overall the voicechat to me should be implemented. You don't like hearing some whiny 10 year old kid (sorry 10 year old kids no offence if you use this site) you can just decide to mute him with the wonderful mute button.
I use to play alot of halo on my xbox a year or two back, the voice chat enabled me to make plays with my random teammates and if someone raged you muted them. Even then, there is usuallty alot less rage and abuse on a voicechat because it reminds the rager that hey, that is another person on the line and in this type of game usually would type it down anyways because it's more anonymus than a voicechat.
That my opinion anyways. Don't know if Riot is gonna accept the fix cursevoice did by removing all timers and keeping the voicechat, we shall see in the next few days i guess.
my 2 cents :)

WC3 and WoW are much more complex games than league of legends. There are far more people in a raid or battlegroun than there are in a game of League, there are also far more spells and a lot more going on in the environment. I think that's why addons are allowed but monitored. At least when I played back in WotLK, there were addons that told you when to press spells, where to stand, when a boss was going to do a lot of damage or use a cooldown. It got to the point where addons (3rd party programs) were necessary and did everything for you. I don't understand why you would defend that or want that type of system in League
100% agree. I also played in WotLK and felt pretty disappointed while that raid indicator addon was usable (if I recall it got removed?). Mostly I like this stance because it draws a line and prevents this gaming environment from happening. I don't want to have to download 10 addons to be on the same playing field as everyone else, and I like having to think while I play the game. They could've done it either way but I prefer a more restrictive 3rd party policy for a game like LoL.
It's also fair to note a lot of these addons were UI improvements, since the default UI was pretty sucky. Also a lot of the addons were for PvE experiences, so I don't think Blizzard cared as much about you having a competitive edge on Sindragosa vs. an enemy team.
