I honestly think it's easier climbing to Gold I -> Plat V than Silver I -> Gold V.

Yes, in my opinion Gold 1 is the hardest division to climb out of save Diamond 1. It's full of Plat 5's that gave up and don't care anymore and there are just so many trolls. I was Plat 3 during preseason, then when S4 started it took me literally 3 months to climb out of Gold 1 (where I was placed). 3 weeks after I got out of Gold 1 I'm already at Plat 1.

I think Silver 1->Gold 5 is easier because it's still pretty low level and easy to stomp in, especially if you can play at a higher level. Although it took a while for me in S3 and one of my friends took forever too so I may be mistaken.
