NOPE! I already tried. It's not gonna happen with these trolls. So just ignore it or contribute to the sexiness.

There's not that much to discuss. 1) League has never been about realism; people can move through walls, spears deal magic damage, a wind wall causes a rocket to explode, etc. Therefore whatever attire the women (and men) are wearing in this game doesn't really matter. 2) It's a trend in both videogames and movies; though mostly videogames. This trend has several reasons and one of them is that it's way more appealing to the target audience. 3) Why do we always talk about the portrayal of women in X, why is it never about how men are portrayed? Kassadin and Malzahar are ****ing void mages and yet they look like He Man. The fact that Lee Sin and Jarvan IV are in shape makes sense, but hell, even Ryze and Kassadin have the same physical appearance.

A lot of designers seem to have trouble making characters look feminine without huge breasts and well-formed butts while there's so much more to a female character. Also, women who are into physical fitness aren't exactly known for their big breasts. Then again, in League and other games it goes beyond that, because it's not a character's fault for having a formidable chest, but it is their fault regarding the attire they've chosen to wear.

With male characters, the same problem seems to be a thing. They either require a good amount of facial hair and/or lots of muscles to show that they're male. In League, Ezreal is an exception to the rule and therefore branded gay. This really marks what the current standards are in these kind of videogames. Sure, I get it that people want to detach themselves from reality for a moment, and then be some kind of badass warrior but that's not always the case.

And I could be alright with this trend if characters actually had a well-defined and well-thought-out personality but that's rarely the case. League characters are just one-dimensional, so their attire can match that. I mean, what if Aragorn from LOTR would look like Tryndamere (just the attire), then everyone would be confused because it doesn't match his character. In League it works, because the character is a nobody who makes a masturbation joke.

Psh, Valkyrie Leona is standard "female fantasy armor". It's basically a metal bikini. Because clearly, the breasts and pelvis are the only parts that need to be protected in a fight. Also, her armor is meant to be "sexy", evidenced by the fact that the cleavage can be seen and how the hell can It be considered tame when you compare it to her other skins. I mean, even the Pool Party one covers her up more.

this. entire. thing.

real armor looks like this:

sexy? not so much.

functional? yes.

some of these arnt even that sexual, red card kat is wearing what i believe most females in soccer wear, crimson akali isnt that bad, i dont see how soraka or headhunter nidalee are even remotely sexualized, is it because theyre both female characters? sejuani wasnt even meant to be in a bikini hence the visual update she got that keeps her in full armor, the skin only stayed because people didnt want that OR the pig to change(yes some people liked the old pig more than they liked the bikini)

have you looked at the in-game model for Headhunter Nidalee ?

it's showing massive amounts of skin for no real reason...same with Red Card Katarina , Soraka's base skin and Crimson Akali...

So much truth in this post

I mean, can I play ONE proper male mage? You know, one who focused entirely on his magecraft? Why is there a need to give them as much muscular development as warriors who have been physically training their entire life?

Pls. It's COMPLETELY out of character...

Also, @Female champs... why does riot feel the need to make everything a fap fest? I mean, if you're going to make them over - sexualized at least GET THE PROPORTIONS RIGHT

i still dont think theyre that bad, things like eve and battle bunny make sense but crimson akali? soraka? thats just being way too prudish, its basically saying "it has boobs therefore its over-sexualized!"

plus some champions are meant to be seductresses in their lore like elise/eve/ahri so them being portrait as they are is ok because it goes with their character

also stop using battle bunny riven for the sexualization of women in gaming because that was a fan created skin that got a lot of "up votes" or whatever so riot created it for the fans, its supposed to be a fan service skin because its a skin the community literally asked for

I agree that the term here is misused and out of place as it has nothing to with sexualising the character. It just comes off as that the artists and designers have no idea how to make a character look male or female without focusing on those aspects. It is a common trend in videogames though; I mean take the Argonians in Skyrim, reptiles with boobs... Can it get any more stupid than that?!

The problem with characters like Akali is essentially the same issue as the problem with the male mages; their body type not matching their occupation. Women who are into gymnastics and physical fitness do not have huge breasts; that's just a result of them training a lot, so Akali's body type is just completely out of place. Her attire isn't that great either, but it's not weird like Katarina's.
