In this guide I will be telling you what i usually build to get my Irelia top of the charts.
Now im not saying this build works with anyone, but i find this build to suite me with perfection!

Almost ever game i ALWAYS start off with my "Q" which is also known as BS/BladeSurge
Secondly, i will get my "E" which is also known as EQ/Equilibrium strike
My third point is ALSO put into my "W" which Hiten Style(also know as your OP HEALING ABILITY)
This spell is very affective early game. Lets say you follow with dagger as your first item, your nearly about to die, minions are pushed to your turret, well, press your "W" and last hit minions that the turret attacks, guaranteed some health.
The most commonly used skill order is "Q" to catch up to them, followed with "W" for true damage, and then finally "E". Now if your low health, and lets say your target has 15 more health than you, you will be able to get a 2.5 second stun. Within this duration of the stun, your fellow teammates can effect a quite of bit damage.

Lastly, your ULTIMATE!
Your ultimate was the most OP thing in the game when Irelia was first released, people would be able to turret dive, hit "R" and just heal themselves all the way back to full. Sadly she got a Nerf, but is still able to do alot of healing with it.
I pefer using my ULTI when a lane is being pushed by minions, seems how it has a 30 second cool down @ lvl 16.
Otherwise i use it during team fights as a defensive spell, or just to finish someone off that is running.

Runes...
This is honestly a personal reference
My rune build with irelia is very similar, but i do add a few Attack speed runes for my glyphs.
Pretty much Anything with Attack damage/AP an even ATCKSPEED will work

Masteries again, personal reference.

I usually go 21/0/9 as listed in the guide, but otherwise while doing ranks, if the team seems to be squishy, ill do 9/0/21

Items!
Now your probably going to be wondering why i use a lichbane, and a rage blade
Well the reason being, with Shen from lichbane, makes your next attack do 100% more damage or AP( forgot) Anyways, in game if you hit "Q" your bladesurge, it will give you 2 stacks of the rageblade, followed by an "E" is 3, not going to get in much details, but it works.

Spirit Visage : This works with W, your bloodthister, and more importantly your Ulti
Bloodthister+IF: These are your main Attackdamage items you will be obtaining in game
The crit is nice, and so is the life steal
BOOTS: This is based on the team comp. If your fighting against a stun heavy, or snare heavy, id prefer Merc Treads( because of this, Ur passive with 3 stacks will pretty much make anything less than a second
If not, CDR/ATCKSP works just as fine

Ghost+Ignite i find to be the most usefull summoners spells for Irelia
few games ill go flash+ ignite, but just depends!

If you dont have a jungler, always try and get blue buff at all times for the CDR/MP5

Besides nasus, i would think Irelia is the 2nd best farmer in game, last hitting with "Q" is amazing.

Magic Resist
