Shaco is very underestimated when going AP and I can assure you with this guide you will be doing insane amounts of dmg and helping your team get fed.

Masteries I run 9/0/21 picking up the Ap per lvl, cooldown, and spell pen in the offense tree. Then getting a normal caster build in Utility but putting 2 points in Utility Mastery because blue buff is your best friend.

You need gold per 5 items because when your in your lane you wont be getting much cs. The rest is just a pure AP stacking build besides the Deathfire which you can use as an extra skill. If you do really well in your lane and you have a lot of money just take a trip back and get a Needlessly Large Rod and you will dominate the lane.

Some people think that AP Shaco is just there to stack boxes in a bush and wait 20 minutes for someone to come by. He does do that but you can be a lot more helpful and do a lot more if played right.

Shaco's role throughout the game is to provide support through his boxes by giving vision and fear (also being able to burst people down from full health in a matter of seconds).

During the lane your job is to stack boxes in the bush not only to trap the people in your lane but in case their jungler tries to gank. If you have a good # of boxes in the bush and 3 people try to gank you that's a triple right there. You don't need to last hit because you will gain the majority of your money from your gold per 5 and getting kills and assists.

When laning phase is over it is your job to be roaming the enemies jungle and placing boxes in spots to gain vision. If they have a jungle you want to place boxes in and around blue or red to try and gank the jungler and other when clearing the jungle. You want the other team to get mad because every step they take there is a box just destroying them and as they keep getting mad they will not think straight and start making mistakes.
