At late game i think having the Dorans Ring is not good at all so you should sell it and buy the Abyssal-scepter as is in my items purchase.
IF you want to have a good defense try to buy zhonyas and Abyssal scpeter , and u finish the game with some defense. Its a good way to kill some champions , like Maester Yi , Annie , Tryndamere .... And some champs wich deals some damage.

Both are good to brand , but in my opinion the best spells for brand are flash and ghost , i usually pick flash because we can run away from a team fight without any problem , and we can kill someone who is low life in front of us using flash a killing him.
Ghost is very good to brand because brand is a champ wich is very low walking , and when someone is runing with low life we can use ghost to cath him! Ghost is good to run away from a fight , using ghost we can run away very fast.
Some people like to use ignite on brand , ignite is a good way to deal damage , because as you know brand passive is a kind of ignite, and with ignite and his passive , brand is very op. But i think its a waste of spell , because if we have a type of ignite why choosing another one ?
Clarity is recommended for people who dont know how to play with Brand , because brand is a litle bit difficult to play witout using all of mana , but i think its easy to learn how to use his mana. So i think clarity a waste of spell.

Some people dont know which item buy at start , i usually prefer to buy Dorans Ring because gives me more magic damage and life. I think that buying Meki pendant at the start its not good at all , because you are very squishy. I recommend use Meki pendantto people whose have many ap runes and for people whose have problems with mana , so they need Meki pendant to mana regen.
