Runes

MARKS
Greater Mark of Alacrity to proc that passive more often
SEALS
Greater Seals of Resilience for more durabilaty
GLYPHS
Diana is melee so other than Q you cant do any damage behind your minions so magic resist is key for mid laners.(even melee champions abilities tend to do magic damage so magic resist is also good for top lane)
Quintessences
Diana has good base AP and good scaling so 3 Greater Quintessences of Potency will be all the AP runes you need.

Masteries and Summoner Spells

MASTERIES
If you noticed I chose ALACRITY instead of BLAST. Again this is to utilize Dianas passive to its fullest. Other than that its a basic AP mastery Page.
SUMMONER SPELLS
1.Flash-to get in position for a kill, gank or escape
2.Exhaust-to greatly slow your opponent reducing there movement speed to secure a kill or assist and land more melee hits to proc that passive, to weaken an opponent to take reduced damage and gain the upper hand in a fight or to slow your opponent to escape.

Items

BUILD ORDER
1.boots 3 pot
-dont be afraid to get a mana pot since you wont get that first blue buff
2.Kage's Lucky Pick
-For a splash of AP and gold per 10
3.Finish boots
-by the time you get to step 3 you should have been able to read your opponents play style so choose boots accordingly. In most cases you want spell pen so go with Sorcerer's Shoes
4.ITS NEVER A BAD IDEA TO GRAB A DORANS RING OR TWO (unless your compleatly owning your lane in witch case skip step 4.)
5.Build a Stinger or a Fiendish Codex in either order
-if you need more mana regen build the codex first since the Stinger is mainly for the extra attack speed and to start Nashors's Tooth)
The next items can be taken in any order depending on the situation and what you need
6.Nashor's Tooth (FOR YOUR PASSIVE)
-this item will boost your attack speed slightly over 1 per sec on top of a good chunck of AP, mana regen and cooldown reduction
7.Rylai's Crystal Scepter
-Health,AP and a slowing affect that lets you hit your opponent more often since they wont be able to get away from you as well
8.Lich Bane
-Ap, movement speed, mana, magic resist and a unique passive that compliments your passive.
-Think about getting a Sheen early and finishing the Lich Bane later to get full use of the unique passive early game without losing ground trying to finish Lich Bane.
9.Rod of Ages
-AP,health,mana
-Unigue Passive that makes this item well worth getting early game
10.Get rid of Kage's Lucky Pick for a better item
-This one is up to you
-Kage's Lucky Pick builds right into a Deathfire Grasp (if you have a hard time remembering to use activated abilities or you find yourself dieing alot theres always Guardian Angel

YOU DONT HAVE TO RUSH EVERY ITEM. YOU CAN ALWAYS BUILD BITS AND PIECES TO SUIT YOUR CURRENT NEEDS.

Jungling vs Mid

As a Mid your goal is damage before tanky
-A splash of tanky will win you lane save finishing tankier items for later team fights
As a Jungler Your goal it tanky before damage
-Attack speed to clear jungle creeps and proc that passive
-tanky to survive jungle creeps and ganks
-AP to kill everyting

The above build order is ideal for both laning and jungling

Game Play Tips

1.Your W can and will save your life even without all three orbs hit. Use it to reduce oncoming damage when ever possible but dont go overboard or you will be left without mana when you need it.
2.Try to land your Q before R when ever possible. As long as you have your ult up you can use it to escape to enemy minions, R then E to secure a kill for a team mate and of corse get a kill.
3.Study the range of your E. It isnt a good feeling when you miss.
4.YOU DONT HAVE TO RUSH EVERY ITEM. YOU CAN ALWAYS BUILD BITS AND PIECES TO SUIT YOUR CURRENT NEEDS.
5.Your not a tank. Your Job is to pick off HIGH PRIORITY targets and set up kills with your E.
6.When ever possible help out your jungler buy ganking when and were they cant at the time. (during lane phase is when it will be least expected)
7.You will tend to spend alot of time in the middle of team fights so get items to make you tanky and use flash or your ult to move around in the fight to confuse and divert focus from yourself.
