Introduction.

Hey guys, this is my first build on MOBAfire, so sorry if I'm not up to speed on certain things. ANYWAYS, on to the build.

Dr. Mundo is quite possibly one of the tankiest tanks I have ever tanked with. He uses his own health as a resource, so it would make sense to have a lot of health right?

CORRECT.

Here's how you successfully do that without completely messing up.

I hope this guide helps. ^^

Runes, Masteries, and Summoner Spells.

I use flat health quints, 4 flat health marks, and 2 flat health seals (for the early game advantage), the other marks armor, and the other seals HP/LVL, and I use flat MR glyphs.

As far as masteries go, I spec primarily into the defense tree, maxing out Resistance and Hardiness first (because who doesn't love more armor and MR). for the 2nd tier i max out evasion, following that, i max out everything in the 3rd tier. Nimbleness and Hardened Skin make sense, right? But why Defensive Mastery? Mundo is a very AoE intesive tank, with Burning Agony and Sunfire. So, chances are, you're going to attract a lot of attention from the minions, and as the old adage goes, "better safe than sorry". For the 4th tier i max out veteran's scars and get willpower for the reduced CD on cleanse. I skip the 5th tier and jump straight into Tenacity.

Once you've done all that you need to do in the Defensive mastery tree, move on to utility. First I max out Perseverance. Some may wonder why i go for the HP/Mana regen, and that answer is simple. ANY HP regen, is good HP regen. Then I put one point into Good Hands, kinda just to put it there to access the 2nd tier in utility, which i use to max out Awareness because a good tank is a leveled tank. ^^

Now all that's out of the way, let's discuss Summoner Spells. I go for Clairvoyance and Cleanse, but with that said, Mundo is fairly versatile with summoner spells. Only reason I do this is because he has an escape (ulti increases movement speed), a heal, and a slow, (Infected Cleaver).

Items.

Like I said, Mundo's abilites use his health, so LET'S STACK A LOT OF HEALTH. :D

I start out with the ruby crystal, so you have endless opportunities to harass.
When i get the chance I go b to upgrade ruby crystal to heart of gold, because more gold is amazing. then i pick up boots of speed, followed by a kindlegem.

after that i go in this order: merc's>spirit visage>sunfire cape>warmog's>FoN>Randuin's.

if you start hurting real bad for some reason, go ahead and sell off the SV, because there are certain things that would just be more important. for example if there's an AD carry, sell it off for thornmail.

Skill Sequence.

I alternate between Q and W early game, maxing out Q first because of its importance to mundo's tanking. it's really the only initator he has, so we should worry about that first. i DON'T max out E til late game because, well, let's face it. this is a tank build. the last thing a tank should be worried about is his damage output.

Abilities and how I use them.

Mundo isn't really that hard to get a hang of. Just spam cleavers and if you hit something run at it with W on. later game, you should probably turn on your E also, just because you can. If you get low, turn on your ulti and run away.

That's all I have for now, expect more guides from me in the near future. I hope this helped out your build. Enjoy. ^^
