Exhaust is great to use for chasing, escaping, and 1v1... doesn't get better than that.
Flash is helpful for chasing and escaping from groups of enemys and combined with your ulti, you can escape any fight.
Ignite is always useful early game and gives more damage to yi.
Ghost makes Yi rediculously fast when used with his ulti. He also cannot be slowed so the speed wont go away!

Passive- Double Strike- Normal attacks strike twice every seven hits. This skill is sweet. It's good all game and it really contributes greatly to Yi's damage output.
Q-Alpha Strike- Blink/Nuke which hits 4 random enemies. Has a chance to deal bonus damage to minions. This skill is very good for farming, harassing, and chasing. The position of the unit you cast it on determines your ending position, so it’s very useful to use minions to slingshot yourself at enemy champions. You end up tele-nuking them and you return to the position of the initial minion, so the enemy ends up taking damage without being able to retaliate. Very cheap and effective!
W-Meditate- A channeling skill which heals you 140/280/420/560/700 (+1.65 per ability power) over 5 seconds while at the same time increasing your magic resist. I usually pass on this skill early game in favor of Alpha Strike and Wuju Style. Yi has a small mana pool, which I feel is better allocated towards spamming Alpha Strike. Late game this skill might save you a trip or two to the fountain. It heals 1100 at lv 5, so it’s nothing to sneeze at. The fact that it’s channeling makes it ineffective for combat situations. For me, itemizing for lifesteal allows adequate healing throughout the game.
E-Wuju Style- A passive/active skill which increases damage by 15/20/25/30/35. This is one of Yi’s best skills. It allows him to have insane dps. I take this skill after Alpha Strike and then I alternate between Wuju and Alpha until both are maxed. You want to pop this skill, along with highlander, as you begin ganking/engaging. Pure carnage will ensue.
R-Highlander-Yi’s ultimate. It gives 40/60/80% increased attack speed and 40% increased movement speed for x seconds. This skill is great for all situations. These include: chasing down a fleeing opponent, escaping a gank, as well as taking down a tower.

I always try an get Averice Blade as soon as possible to get the 5g per 10s. once I get this, I go for boots so yi is fast for both chasing and escaping. Then, I go for Tiamat since it will be great for farming and fighting in your lane. After that I go for AS with the Phantom Dancer. Next, grab Stark's Fervor so you can get lifestealing. Then get The Black Clever to get passed enemy armor. I finish off the Averive Blade and make Youmuu's Ghostblade. I finish the Ghostblade last so I can maintain the 5g per second bonus most of the game.
Master Yi is a great farmer. This is good, since you’re going to spend most of the game farming to get the gear you need to do well=D. To accomplish this you’re going to depend on timing Alpha Strike to last hit minion mobs. You can also pop Wuju Style to up your dps long enough to take out a minion mob.
Early on, you’re going to want to sit back and wait for the minions to come to a position where you can safely Alpha Strike them. You don’t want to Alpha Strike and end up in the middle of 2 enemies. Early on you’re too soft and they’ll end up pwning you. If you’re laning against 2 enemies who are trying to harass, stay back and wait for the minions to come just out of the range of your tower.
When they get in range, Alpha Strike and you’ll kill most of them. You can kill the remaining minions with your normal attack by juking back and forth until the tower gets them low. If you’re close to your tower and there are 2-3 minions and an enemy around, you can use those minions to slingshot into the enemies with Alpha Strike. You’ll damage them and land safely behind your tower.

I hope you all enjoyed reading my guide. I'm confident you'll find most of the basic strategies and item builds to be pretty straightforward.
Master Yi is a lot of fun to play - since you're reading this, you probably already know. If you're not having much success, be sure to refer to the strategy sections in depth. Although Yi is easy to learn he does take some time to master.
Keep playing and by all means have fun playing Master Yi!
