Zed is an assassin who can deal a lot of damage in a little amount of time, and then live to tell the tale. Zed has high mobility, thus allowing him to take any advantage he has and apply pressure to other lanes. Zed has a strong early game with good snowball potential, and he remains relatively strong throughout the game.

Blade of the Ruined King is a must on Zed. The active on it allows for Zed to do more damage on his deathmark. It is also a very good item for laning, allowing him to sustain from the lifesteal.
