Introduction
Mordekaiser, the Master of Metal
During the winter solstice, on the darkest day of the year, a being like no other emerged from the forgotten alleyways of Noxus. Standing eight feet tall, and concealed within a razor-sharp armored shell, he came to be known only as Mordekaiser. The nature of what lies beneath his carbonized carapace is a popular subject of speculation. Many allege that he is a mortal man with a heart that has hardened to iron. Others insist that he is a dark specimen of the undead. But there are some who whisper warnings that he is merely a foreshadowing of something terrible and unprecedented yet to come. Despite the public conjecture and curiosity, none have discovered what lies beneath his alloyed exterior. What is known is this: Mordekaiser arrived unannounced at the Institute one day and, with a rasp that crept ice up the spines of all within earshot, requested to join the League of Legends. Upon glimpsing his fearful visage, most keep their distance, fortunately unaware that his touch bears a sinister scourge. Those who stumble within his grasp fall victim to incurable maladies. In fact, Mordekaiser seems mystically attuned to sickness, as if it feeds and comprises part of his chilling essence. He now stalks the slums of Noxus, drawn to the plague-ridden and diseased. However, there is something in his clever tactics, something in his noble stance, something in the tone of his unearthly commands that has led many to believe that Mordekaiser is more than just a foot soldier. Some see the distinguishing characteristics of a general. While many have learned to accept the evidence of this unsettling possibility, a lingering question keeps them wary at the witching hour: If Mordekaiser is a general, what nightmarish legion lurks at his command? "The common perception is that the encompassing armor protects him, I fear that -- for the fragile time being -- it actually protects us."
for runes i use all tier 3
4 marks of strength / 5 marks of insight
3 seals of regeneration / 6 seals of vitality
3 glyphs of force / 3 glyphs of focus /3 glyph of warding
1 quint of potency/ 1 quint of resilience / 1 quint of insight
With this rune setup you have all the bases covered you have your magic pen and damage for your early game dominance.the seals have all of you health regen and increases your health pool (because all mordes spells cost health not mana) the glyphs i have chosen cover you ap and cool downs for faster spamming of your abilities i threw the magic resist in to help with laning against ryze or fiddlesticks. the quints just boost the other runes to give you that little extra for when you really need it

for masteries i use the standard mage masteries 9/0/21 these give me magic pen and cooldowns for all my sumoner spells . while providing a speed boost for ghost and base movement speed helps with more gold and xp earned and extends the the buffs of the neutral monsters.Gives me more ability power and more magic pen which is great for morde
i usually start the game with a doran shield. my first trip back i like to get boots of speed and cloth armor. second trip in buy thornmail or force of nature depending on who you are fighting . next up are sorcerers shoes and ryalis crystal scepter . by now you are doing considerable amounts of farming and ganking for your team so the final items are negotiable a madreds blood razor a void staff and a hextech gunblade (personally i get the madreds and the gunblade ) but the void staffs magic pen are really hard to ignore if you are fighting mostly melee champs (such as yi and tryndamere) I have recently experimented with Malady it boost your auto attack speed (really good for pushing the towers) and helps your magic penn by reducing your opponents magic resist by 6 stacks 4 times. this if used with abyssal scepter will decimate any magic resist they may have
for skills first point goes in to syphon of destruction this skill is the second most important skill next to your ult(children of the grave)i try to equally distribute my skill points til i get my ult then syphon gets my attention with its range it will help you get that last hit you need to turn the tide of the match in your teams favor. now on to creeping death this skill can be thrown to a ally minion or champion which gives them a 6 sec magic resist and armor boost. distribute point between this and mace of spades. Children of the grave (ult)when used it steals a small percentage of enemy champions health up front which is given to you. now when a enemy champion is killed while you ult is cast upon them you get their soul as a pet as a reward . while you have a pet you are granted a small portion of their attack and ability power. to control you pet hold the Alt button and right click to the location of your choice .
this is up for your preference i use ghost and ignite. ghost grants you immense movement speed for a short period of time which is great for when you are low on health and need to escape. Also it can help you get to your teammates when they are in trouble or if they need a gank. now onto ignite this spell deals direct damage(not magic or physical)and slows the health regen while active. only use ignite when your ult is ready you must have the enemy champion to a least 50% health then hit them with syphon /ignite and your ult and keep on them til either they die or they run to the tower(which if you get greedy or have enough health just finish them off)
this is my way to play morde he has so many different builds for so many situations this particular one should help most people get their mordes going back into the playable champion list again so if you have any questions or ideas please feel free to hit me up on league or leave a comment on here thanx for viewing
