this is my personally Xin Zhao solo top lane item build
this build is very tanky and good for initiating teamfights and you also get kills but most times more supports because there is not that much damage to do all the kills
and Xin Zhao is also powerful in 1vs1 and this build supports this good(in my opinion)

For my runes i picked up Armor pen in marks because you do a lot of damage with your q
i also picked mana regn runes per level because i think they are much better than only mana regn runes, i picked them up for casting my e
attack speed in glyphs is here for supporting Xin Zhao`s battle cry so the cd on my q and e is reduced very fast
at least i took health in quintessence for being not so squishy

Now i tell some details about playing in the team,
like i said in the introduction Xin Zhao is very good to beginning teamfights and thats one of the reasons why i buy such a tanky item build on him
most times i use ghost and youmuu`s ghostblade to run in the enemys fast(often they dont expect this) now im directly in the whole enemy team and use my ulti which do a lot of damage,
after this i jumped on their range carry to kill him fast(if you dont get the ad carry he used flash or a stun) in this moment my the other team lost very much damage
now i can concentrate on protecting my team mates or helping to kill other people

this item build is very good to fight against mages and against champions which have basicly magic damage,
you also strong in 1vs1 against other melees or ad range carrys because if you dont forget youmuu`s ghostblade you have a very hard attack speed boost which is very good in combintation with Xin Zhao`s battle cry
another point is in teamfight: its very difficult to focus you because you are tanky on the one side but also you do much damage on the other side so if you not the only one in your team who did dmg you couldnt be the first focus
