Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
For those lower levels do not worry about Masteries much. If you have less than 19 Mastery Points put them in: Deadliness, Cripple, Alacrity, Ghost, Sorcery and Perseverence, in that order.
For those people who have 19 Mastery Points put all of them in Offense in this order:Deadliness, Cripple, Alacrity, Sorcery, Archmage's Savvy, Sunder and Lethality.
For people who have over 19 Mastery Points put your points in this order:Deadliness, Cripple, Alacrity, Ghost, Sorcery, Perseverence, Archmage's Savvy, Sunder, Lethality, Havoc and Expanded Mind.
Runes & Skills
Your runes you shouldn't really worry about until you hit level 20. Now if sion is your main you should work on his runebook first. You should have High Crit runes and the best you can get are: Quintessences. However, Riot only lets you have 2 slots at level 20 so buy your 2 crit chance runes(or 3 if your level 30) and start working on your Mark runes which are the second best.
Also, with your skills you should try to max out your Stun first and Enrage second. Although, whenever you get a chance to upgrade your Ultimate do it, because your Ultimate is the thing thats going to make you kill multiple enemies.
At the start of the game, buy Boots of Speed, a Health Potion and 2 Mana Potions. Run to one of these bushes, which ever is opposite your spawn. If the other team have ganked bottom mid, one of them will walk up to top and you will easily be able to stun and gank for a kill. If not, one of them will run down the top lane and you can go gank them.
No matter what your playing, a 3v3 or a 5v5 the first item you get is Berserker Greaves. After Berserker Greaves buy Sword of the occult, this item is a good investment and avoids paying big price for a BF Sword. Now that you don't have to worry about damage, your second item should be Phantom Dancer. Your Phantom Dancer is great for Attack Speed, Movement Speed and Critical Chance. Once you have the Phantom Dancer start buying the sub items for Last Whisperer so you can slice through any armor and deal higher damage.
When you've bought your Last Whisperer buy Madred's Bloodrazor. This item is very useful for killing enemy champions if they have a massive amount of health, like Cho'Gath. Now you should have a Berserker Greaves], Sword of the Occult, Phantom Dancer, Last Whisperer and Madred's Bloodrazor.
Now, in Late Game you should have a lot of money from kills and ganks in Mid Game because your Movement Speed is generally higher than your enemy champions and your Chance of Crittin is almost every hit. Anyways, start buying a Black Cleaver because they give Massive Damage and Penetrate through your enemies Armor. You might fancy an Infinity Edge and that is also good. When buying a Black Cleaves you should always buy the BF sword first.
Say good game and walk away with a great sion build to use in the future!
