Introduction

DISCLAIMER: I will not go into how to play Ashe for beginners. This guide is assuming you know how to play Ashe already but are taking on the Support role instead.

Why Support Ashe

Simple reason for support Ashe, great utility in her spells, and after you start entering into team fights you have someone who can do a good deal of damage with the team rather than just sit back and heal or CC.

Hawkshot: If you run out of wards and want to get aggressive or your opponent is getting aggressive Hawkshot can save the day.

Frost Shot: Great CC to slow down in a chase.

Enchanted Crystal Arrow: Not only a great CC for your lane but for anyone on the map.

Pros/Cons

Pros

- Incredible CC
- Great Harass with Focus and Volley
- Extra damage mid-late game

Cons

- No internal sustain
- Not as powerful as if played as an AD Carry
- Recommended to leave 6th item slot open for wards

Runes/Masteries

Run standard AD runes and masteries for mid-late game. An extra AD carry will make all the difference in team fights. I would not recommend taking the standard support masteries simply because your role becomes that of a standard AD Carry Ashe mid-late game except you are carrying some team items and Heal.

Skill Sequence

Take Hawkshot first for that extra vision since you will have only 1 ward. Frost Shot for the slow on ganks then maximize Volley. Maximize Hawkshot after Volley for its extra gold to make up for what you lost from not being the one to last hit.

Laning

Bottom bushes are color coded, but ideally you want to be in the top bush. Any position gives you great location for harass but top bush keeps you from needing a ward there, only draw back is you are separated from your lane partner.

Team Fights

Since you take on a secondary AD Carry role in team fights you want to position yourself as far away from your other carry as reasonably possible. This prevents a double focus from enemy AOE moves.

Laning Partners

Caitlyn: Not recommended with Support Ashe. Caitlyn's range will keep your opponents further back leaving Ashe useless without completely exposing herself.

Corki: A great partner for Support Ashe. He has great damage and escape if things go wrong.

Ezreal: Another good laning partner. Once you hit level 6 your ult combo with be a very fearsome thing and most enemies will want to stay spread out to avoid getting caught by both.

Graves: The best partner for Support Ashe. His Smoke Screen can allow you to get into perfect position for a burst and with dual AOE it is hard to avoid poke from both of you.

Kog'maw: A good combination with lots of harass and slow. It will be hard for your enemies to escape from both of you.

Sivir: Another good combo, lots of poke and post level 6 if you get caught it is your own fault. Sivir can prevent lots of damage with her Spell Shield letting you save your heal for clutch situations.

Twitch: A fearsome lane but your opponents will most likely tower hug as much as possible.

Urgot: A mediocre combo, both of you are squishy and mana will be a constant problem for most of laning phase if you plan to harass a lot.

Vayne: A great partner with Support Ashe. Condemn will punish anyone trying to take over bush control and post level 6 your ult will provide that second stun to ensure the kill.
