I like playing Heimer support also and I have to admit that I totally agree with blacksp3ll.
Getting some AP items work very well for heimer.
I usually start with
but i rush to Kage's Lucky Pick and then the frozen heart.
then i get Soulshroud or an AP aura item depending on what will help me or the team more.
the added AP helps
tho i have to admit, I usually get a bit of AP for any support champ i get, it helps me stay usefull as more then a just a walking ward in late game.

Its a nice Guide and AP ist not all you need for a Support but some people dont know how to play or what a support need to do! If a Support needs AP then a lot of Sona / Soraka and Taric players dont know how to play a support role then? hmmm dont think so.

I must say thats this is rather a nice idea, but more then the Turret defender will not work so well without some AP, I would at least give him somethink like Abyssal_Scepter or Will of the Ancients what still supports the team and gives hit Turrets / Abilitys a little bit more dmg, cuz it rly skales well with him and the cost of "Will of the Ancients" went quiet up so it will save your AP Carrys a lot of Gold fot better DPS Items.

Interesting. I was playing with the Idea myself.
His passive is a nice sustain that comes for free and works even better with more Halth regen aura. His Turrets can work as wards and zoneing tool,
His Grenade is probably the best CC in game - if you can land it, and his rockets are a foolprove damage addition.
His ultiamate gives you what every support needs: CDR, CC, utility.
However. I disagree with your item choices; let me help you improove your guide:
- you will cap CDR and that is bad because you are wasting money that you as a support don'thave. Allthough the Soulshroud is a good item, every stat on it is "ok" for Heimer and your team, but not better. Shurelias works nice, but dont get both.
- He has good AP scaling and Magic damage, and while it is possible to play him without damage and focus on utility, that throws away something Imo. You can support very well Kage's Lucky Pick, Will of the Ancients and MPen Marks, too. If you don't take these items, please explain why.
- Mana Issues. Your solution is Clarity. Are there alternatives ? Why clarity ? Isn't Clairvoyance Chalice of Harmony and MReg runes better ?
Make your guide a little broader and explain some unusual choices better, and you will recieve the credit you deserve :)
