Introduction *IMPORTANT*

So recently I have seen talon being played quite a lot, and being one of my main champions it has been sad to see him built and played wrong. Everyone has their own style and build for each champion and this guide may not suite everybody. In this guide however I hope to outline the basics to play talon, and help a lot people play a good burst damage talon.

I have read a few guides and based my original talon off thatsnotmypirate guide to Talon so id like to thank him (His guide can be read here - http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/build/talon-the-noxian-assassin-ad-burst-update-117801) My guide is purely about burst, this is not a defensive guide and this needs to be understood. This is a build I have developed over time and come quite accustomed to it.

THIS GUIDE IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR NEW PLAYERS OR HIGH ELOS

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS GUIDE

This build is mainly for 5v5 Normal games. It is a fun build and can be used effectively. It is not my main build and therefore not a complete guide. This is the foundations to a build, obviously it needs to be adapted depending on who your vsing, how your going, whether your winning or loosing and also whether your a carry or supporting carry.

This is how iv done in a few games for this guide (obtained a few quadra kills and a penta within 5 games with this build), not all games are wins but sometimes you just cannot save a team:

Common Phrases Used in LoL

oom: out of mana

mia/miss: missing from lane

re: reappear - re1/re2 therefore means 1 or 2 champions are missing

GTFO/bail: simply get the **** back :)

Backdoor: To attack enemy towers without the cover of your minions

Leash: To attack neutral monsters then run for your jungler so they take less damage

Care: Be careful where you are

b: back/return to base

Runes

'Greater Mark of Desolation' is a handy rune to have for many builds (Xin Zhao, Tryndamere, Jungle Tryndamere, Nocturne, etc) but for Talon helps dramatically in early game to obtain kills. With 1.66 Armour Penetration per rune (14.94 armour penetration for all 9) gives an advantage over those who have bought a Doran item (shield, sword or ring).

'Greater Seal of Resilience' allows you to stay in lane a lot longer by reducing more damage then people care to think (level 18 defence is 90.69 with runes). This will also help late game against pesky champions like Nocturne and Xin Zhao with a bonus of 1.41 armour per rune.

'Greater Glyph of Focus' will help dramatically with the cool down of Rake (your most used ability) with a cool down percentage of 0.65 per rune (5.85% in total). This insignificant number will make a tremendous difference.

'Greater Quintessence of Desolation' provides you with an added 3.33 armour penetration rune (9.99 in total) to that already of the 'Greater Rune of Desolation' will grant an armour penetration of 24.98 at level 1. Which therefore will grant you a huge advantage in early battles, also counter the negative effects of not having the added damage of a B.F sword early game.

Items

For items I have chosen mainly high damage and critical strike/chance items.Boots of speed and 3 health potions should be able to sustain you until level 5/6, around this time you should have accumulated 1200-> gold.It is essential you save this money for your B.F sword, without this early game talon is quite weak and becomes a target. After this you'll finish boots of swiftness off to help you get around the map a lot quicker. Your next item is the Brutalizer, this item will give you attack damage whilst decreasing cool downs and providing you with extra armour penetration. This will help you obtain some early to mid game kills to build the next item quickly. Now you want to aim for buying your infinite edge which should be easy now that already have a B.F sword. This item will grant you a high amount of attack damage and critical chance whilst also increases your critical strike tremendously. Last whisperer is a good item for Talon to build as it gives him a huge armour penetration bonus and extra attack damage. By now Talon should be able to 1v2 and obtain a double kill with the majority of his health left.Building bloodthirster now will add extra attack damage and life steal which is easy to obtain stacks with. Talons Rake ability should be able to take out an entire minion wave by itself by now.Next you want to build zeal, this will give you the move bonus (as well as the critical chance you need as well as some basic attack speed) which will help you move between ganks. You now want to finish Youmuu's Ghostblade which you should then move to the first item slot (then bind '1' to the first item so you can quickly activate it at necessary times in battle, for instance chases or quick getaways). Then you want to finish Phantom Dancer for obvious reasons.

NOT RECOMMENDED - But if you want to/can you can sell your boots and buy a second Phantom Dancer.

Pros / Cons

Pros:
* High levels of burst damage
* Elusive in team fights when ultimate is up
* Can solo baron easily
* Easy to obtain penta kills
* Ultimate has a very small cool down

Cons:
* Very weak without ultimate in early levels
* Usually needs high levels of support to make first few kills
* Easy to counter (especially with Thornmail as Talon is completely attack damage)

Summoner Spells

- I find this spell to be extremely helpful with solo combat as it reduces damage but can also be used for chases and escapes. I find it to be one of the most helpful spell for talon.
- I find Ignite to be very helpful in obtaining early kills, it also allows for you to ignite and run obtaining less damage whilst still obtaining the kill.

Gameplay *IMPORTANT MUST READ*

GAMEPLAY WITH TALON IS CRUCIAL AS A CARRY.

Early Game:
Early game with Talon should be defensive. You need to aim for last hitting minions and harassing opposing lane champions with Rake. If you become too aggressive you'll have to return to base early and put you behind in experience. One key objective as a carry is to stay firmly above every other champion in the game in levels and gold. Rake can also be used to harass and obtain minion kills if placed right. Once you have obtained a B.F sword Talon becomes a Roaming champion. Everyone has different ideas about what that exactly is. But for this guide it is simply moving between each lane to gank and obtain kills and cleaning out the jungle in your spare time (this does not make you a JUNGLER).

Mid Game:
Mid game should be concentrating on getting kills, remember as Talon you should not be seen and should not be the initiator in a 5v5 team battle. By this time you should be on your way to be building or finishing Infinite Edge. With this item you'll find double kills and tripls become really easy, especially with your Brutalizer.
To ignitiate you shouldthen auto attack before using( why do you do this? because when you auto then click this you attack twice simultaneously) after that you use your ult. USE THIS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FIGHT, and whilst you are invisble (this is where your movement speed comes in handy) you run ahead of them so when your ultcomes back towards you it deals damage twice to all those who are escaping then allowing you to easily clean them up with. THIS ATTACK GUIDE CAN BE USED FOR THE MAJORITY OF TEAM FIGHTS AND BATTLES. Remember don't be scared to use it in a 1v1 to quickly finish up as your ultimate has a very low cool down.

Late Game:
Late game is generally the same as mid, although Talon is very useful for taking out towers quickly asalso works against towers and if you have built itare very helpful for reducing turrets to nothing.

Ganking

Once you obtain a B.F sword this is what you must do. Talon becomes a roamer. Roaming between each lane and cleaning the jungle on his way. As Talon you must be aware that if your ganks fail you will falter behind in levels and become useless.

Gank Mid often to help support your team, make sure though you do not over extend, if the kill is not there bail and move onto next lane.

When ganking top or bot make sure that you have enough room to tun towards their tower once your ult is activated to shut off any escape.

REMEMBER IF ANY TEAMMATE IS ABOUT TO DIE DURING A GANK SAVE YOUR MATE AND PICK UP 1 KILL INSTEAD OF A DOUBLE.

Talon should constantly be ganking each lane. As Talon I spend the entire game roaming and pick picking off anyone over extending.

OVER EXTENDING is the biggest mistake during a gank.
REMEMBER A SCORE OF 1/0/0 IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN A SCORE OF 2/1/0

Alternative Items

- is a helpful item if you are confident that you are going to get fed or your team is doing well and your stacking kills/assist.
- can be very helpful and may save your life when you are fighting and AP weighted team.
- is a helpful item when facing some heavy AD champions and will lower your ultimate to a 24second cool down. It will also allow you to lane a lot longer with bloodthirster

Other items have been tried with this build, but as I have said before they are not welcome in it. This is only one of many builds I use for Talon (the most fun to build) so a lot of items like warmog's, cloak and dagger, Banshees Veil and Trinity force which work well with Talon can be added but not recommended for this guide.

WHY PHANTOMS? *important*

- Phantoms are generally a big NO for Talon. However for this build the critical chance and movement speed are very helpful for taking down opponents quickly. Well that's if they are still alive :)

Mainly I just have them for the movement speed.

I will mention again this is not my main build and the Phantoms are here not for auto attacking but for movement speed and critical chance.
