Xin Zhao Build
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
This is my armor pen Xin build. He ends up with somthing like +80 Armor Pen with an active Sword of the Divine and close to max attack speed with an active Battle Cry+Ghostblade+Elixir of Agility max cooldowns with Golem/Blue Buff and a 30% Crit chance. I feel like these items with the stats they give Xin is hands down the way to build him. It allows him to constantly spam his Q and W for HUGE DAMAGE and very good CC.
In my opinion Xin can defeat any Champion 1v1 with this build.
Ghostblade, Brutalizer, Sword of the Divine are MUST ITEMS ON XIN.
(yes brutalizer and ghostblade do in fact stack)
I would then build whatever counter item I feel is most needed. Which I usually find to be additional CC (Frozen Mallet) or Anti-CC (Banshee's Veil). However if I am facing off against opposing DPS (Yi, Olaf) I might grab a Bloodthirster/Stark's Fevor(most importantly the Vampiric Scepter) or a Thornmail/Randuin's Omen.
I head to lane with a Doran Shield and a Health Pot ideally in a 2v2 lane but Xin can also function in a 1v1 lane against low CC characters (Tristana, Twitch etc.) I focus on Creeping Early to Mid game. Xin can win most encounters early game and I find it to be rewarding to Audacious Charge(E) into opposing squishies followed by (W) and (Q). I use Teleport to better assist in harrassing opposing champs out of the lane by returning to base and quickly back to lane forcing them to use there teleport as well blue pill and walk back. The early game is won for Xin if he is able to 'Free Farm' into his core items (Ghostblade, Sword of the Divine, Brutalizer, Merc Treads) before the laning phase ends. His strongest chances to engage are level 4 (with 2 points into Q) level 6 (With Ult) and level 11.
I continue to focus on farming until I finish the core items in the mid game. Once they are done I purchase a Red then maybe Green Elixir and look to engage a teamfight. If I can Audacious Charge a 'squishy' then I do so and make sure to focus down key targets and try to capture at least 3 champions in my Ult. Xin is capable of whiping a team at this point but should still play somewhat cautiously. After the Final items are built Xin is pretty stupid. With the right counter items I will be looking for any chance to pounce a squishy and try to maintain a Green Elixir (unless I am pushing outside lanes with teleport ready in case a teamfight seems likely to start). I try to keep both buffs (lizard/golem) which are both amazing on him and keep Elixirs on him as well. This build is not nearly as awesome as the potential for pricier builds(BF swords etc.) but just as devastating and much more explosive and cost efficient.
A.) Finish core items Yomuu's Ghostblade, Sword of the Divine, Brutalizer (ALSO TURN ON YOUR ACTIVES)
B.) Aggro opposing players early. (Don't die maximize Teleport and keep your health potions running)
C.) Focus on killing and last hitting creeps.
D.) Engage on squishies.
E.) Keep Elixirs running.
F.) Grab buffs whenever available.
