How does this review work:I'll be going into four 'main' topics: Cheatsheet, Content, Presentation and What can be Improved?. All of these topics alone can turn a great guide into an even better one. Just knowing the ins and outs of your champion alone won't be enough if you're not able to properly convey said information. The end goal is always to make it easier for the readers that come to your guide of course.I'll specify these main categories with purple text within this review, as well as some subcategories which will mostly depend on your guide chapters and for that I'll use the following rating system:

Cheatsheet

>Runes: Adequate

I am a bit curious about your Conqueror choice as the keystone. Looking at some stats, it's mostly Grasp or PtA for toplane Volibear. Is there a particular reason for this choice, what makes it a better choice? Does it provide more options compared to the other keystones or is it good into certain matchups? I feel like explaining this within your notes would be very useful (you do a good job later in the guide with this).

At the same time I believe you can definitely expand your notes for your rune pages. For the first rune page (Classic Bear) you do a great job of explaining certain rune choices, other rune options as well as the reason you went the secondary runes in the first place (resolve). However, this is completely ignored for the other 2 rune pages you've got (Aggressive Bear / Scale Bear). Ask yourself this: Why would readers want to use these two pages? What makes these pages strong in comparison to the classical one? And if there isn't a reason, would there be a point to have these within the guide?

Since your rune pages follow a very funny route of names, I feel like the title "Scaling Bear" would fit more to be honest, but I'll leave that choice to you. You also have "See notes" in 2/3 of the rune pages, don't know if that's intentional.

You don't have a recommended item build picked yet (I would recommend the most popular one to be honest), there's an option within the Build Options tab called "Preview Build", if you check that box the build selected will show up on your guide and also on search listings when searching for your guide.

I feel like they could be structured just a tiny bit better (personally speaking). I like how you've done it at the moment, but I'd probably make it look a bit more organized by doing this:


Differences here is that Doran's Ring and Doran's Blade are broken apart, rather than being mixed up. Since they're both for dueling lanes I named them that, but feel free to change it as you desire. I would also explain more in the notes about why you'd choose each set of starting items. Preference is good but apart from that it does not seem as if there's a difference between Ring & Blade nor whether one is better than the other or if they're better into certain situations.

Since Doran's Ring grants the ability to have 2 pots, you can accomplish getting 2 health potions into the first row by simply clicking the health potion twice when you add them in, they'll stack.



I also broke these apart, organized the same way as you've done with your first back options, since that makes sense. The main takeaway here is to give more room for notes that still explains the reason for the items, but aren't walls of text.

As for the notes in general, they're decent. Some are a bit too short, some are a bit longer but overall they're not too bad. You should try to aim for a good middle ground, where the notes are extensive enough to the point that they explain the purpose of the item, but not too long to the point where it gets overbearing. It is a cheatsheet after all and so most readers will likely use it for quick information before a game starts.

I like what you've done with Threats and I don't think they need any changes, however I do believe you could touch on some Synergies that may work well with Volibear (I would think about potential junglers that may function well together with you, think about e.g. gank setups).

Content

First off, we have something that is called "BBCode", which could help aid you a bit when it comes to explaining certain topics. To put it into simple terms, it's a form of coding that helps create pleasing presentations of information. For example, doing say:
would create the same outcome as the icons you're currently having to showcase, only exception here is that this code would link to our database and hovering over it would show the ability description etc. for that particular ability/spell/item and so forth. This opens up a lot of new options seeing as you wouldn't be in need to repeat the ability description due to readers being able to hover over the icon to read what it does.

You've already tried to explain this a bit at the end of every ability description, such as Voli's passive being able to remove Garen's passive healing, but I feel like you can accomplish more here.

All that the code does is specify what kind of icon you want, in this case an ability named 'the relentless storm', and then specifying what kind of size you want the icon to be, this is in pixels, but other variables such as percent (%) also works just fine, you can also make use of other syntaxes such as width and/or height to specify sizes.

At the same time like above, you can also make use of BBCode for your text as well. For example, doing:
would change these text formats into things like these: Perseverance and Void Shift, which gives you an icon for the ability you're talking about, and again, hovering over it will showcase the description.

Much the same points as with your ability section, the descriptions for the spells and runes are fine as is. Here you did a much better job of explaining the reasoning behind the runes that you have chosen.

>Items: Adequate

If you don't like Divine Sunderer, don't recommend the item and it feels weak compared to other choices, there's no point to have it as an option within the guide if it's not a good item. With that said, it's currently the most popular mythic choice by far for Volibear when it comes to toplane so clearly it may have some sort of use.

If Demonic Embrace hasn't been tested yet, it's not a viable item and should be removed in my opinion. No point to recommend it if you're not sure it's good just yet.

Presentation

If there's one thing I'd say about your guide that I feel like you can improve on, it'll definitely be this. I know very well that making use of BBCode can be a very tedious task in of itself to make use of or just to be able to get familiar with in general, but when it comes to presentation, making use of some code can really make your guide become more alive, so to say.

Here are a few coding guides that we already have on the site that could help you if you'd be willing to dedicate some of your time to learning it (or if you just want some quick templates to make your guide look a bit more tidy):

- BBCode Guide (the actual bbcode guide if you'd want to know how different codes work)
- A Table Coding Guide (talks about the bbcode that is called tables)
- Responsive Columns (talks about responsive columns; mainly for mobile side coding)

>Theme of guide (color scheme): Will need a lot of work

I feel like having a bit of a color theme would go a long way for any guide. This will be especially clear if you were to incorporate some BBCode for your sections. When I say the word 'color theme' I mean using colors that best represents the champion & guide you're trying to make. For example, you're currently using the "The Thousand-Pierced Bear" skin, which means that a good color theme to have could be e.g. a darker Red to fit with the skin. If you were to not use a skin, Blue would be a very nice combination with that one and so forth.

What can be Improved?

Making guides more extensive takes a very long time and a lot of dedication, but if you want to spend more time making your guide more informative, what you've already explained that you wanted to do in the Conclusion is already a good start, such as:

- Knowing how to effectively roam without it negatively impacting you or your team
- How to properly make use of wards to gain vision
- Splitpushing or just the act of side laning in general
- How to take advantage of the junglers during the earlier phases
- How to transfer your lead (if you get one) into a potential win
- How to play the game if you do end up falling behind

These topics can all be useful topics to explain, and of course there can be multiple more that you can talk about when it comes to toplane as a role, but I feel like these are some of the more important ones.

Overall Thoughts

For your first ever guide it's really good. I am impressed. Like mentioned already, if you fix up some sections a little bit more and work on the presentation aspect of your guide, it can definitely become a solid source for players looking to pick up Volibear. I hope this review is of help. :)
