Malphite is one of the best solo top champions in the game. His Q is a great poke, plus with his passive you don't take damage when getting close enough to poke. His ult and and E are a ton of AOE damage and his ult and Q combo are also the best combo in the game for savining allied champions.

Malpohite is a really mana hungry champ. and your mana rregen quints realy help. When i play as Malphite i rarely need to recall before i can get my items because of his passive and the mana regen. then his Glyphs and seals will give you the tankyness u need. Your marks help out a ton because solo top is usaly pretty tanky opponents and it helps u still do tons of damage.

I get his Q and E up fast because they are his main damage source and u need his poke to get your opponent low enough for an ult E Q combo for the kill or for a gank. I feel like his W is not that great when your going for ap damage. Lvling your Q and E not only up your dmage out put but it increaes ur slow and your attack speed debuff. I use q to chase enemys down and to escape from an enemy chaseing me. your ult can also be used like flash but try your best not to because it has such a long cooldown and you realy need it up to save teamates and in teamfights.

i put so many items inthe build because your build should not always be the same. The items you buy and the order in which u buy them should vary depending on your team, your opponent in lane and which enemy carry is more dangerous. all of these items are viable on malphite but not in every situation. For example if you have a blitzcrank support it would make more sense for him to take a frozen heart and for you to get a randuins omen. The bottom line is be smart about your items and build according to the game. In my opinion it is also important to not build strait tank because you wont do anything in team fights except ult.

I always us flash and i took ignite because he really dosen't do that much damage early game. You could, however switch ignite for teleport or exhaust.

overall Malphite is a great champ for tanking and he is a realy hrad counter for any attack damage carry. He is also the best in the game at rescuing allied champions.
