Lately I have been playing garen solo top in many ranked games and I see that I win everygame when I play him, this inspired me to make a guide and show everyone how to farm some easy wins top.

This is really just about helping newcomers to garen and my build that helped me achieve around 10 wins in a row :)

Reason I take my runes

AD : I take flat AD runes to start with as they help with last hitting and give some more damage as were going full tank for late game.

Armour : Armour is essential for garen as he is a tank champion and this scales well early game.

MR : I take Magic Resist Glyphs as they also give a good scale towards mid and late game for garen.

Move speed : I take movement speed to escape those early ganks and combined with garen q and boots early game helps him poke enemies.

I take the build 4:25:1 and this is why.

I build garen more focussed on tanking but with that little bit of damage and move speed.

I start off with boots and 2 pots like all top champions should. I then build Heart of Gold and Philosophers stone incase there are any enemies with good poke and stops you from farm. GP10 is a must for top laners. I then decide to go towards my sunfire cape and warmogs for the early health, then later on finish with my defensive items, Sell you Philosophers stone and get Force of Nature, Guardians Angel and Randuins Omen.

I take flash as garen as it is great for escaping and you should take it on any champion really.
I also take exaust so if jungle ganks it will be a easy kill but teleport and ghost is also viable.

As garen i use my E for a farming tool and use my q for poking, try to freeze the lane nearer to your tower and let them push as much as possible. This helps the jungle and keeps you in the safe zone from enemy ganks.

Pro's :
Faster than most champions with his Q
Silence lasts 3 seconds from Q
Q stops all slows
W reduces damage taken and increases armour and MR passively.
E does overpowered damage and dosent scale too low with AD and it crits.
Counters nearly all ability reliant champions : Riven, Jayce, Teemo, Rumble and Wukong.
His ulti scales with missing health so it Annihilates tanks.
He looks ****ing swag with his giant sword.
Passive heals so much health over time.

Cons :

Easily Harrassed.
Percentage damage is a huge disadvamtage for garen.
Enemies that constantly harrass stop his passive
